So yesterday I was given a link to a PS tut for "Color Adjustment: Selective Color" from aLTRe-eGo. This is probably one of the greatest tricks that I have come across in a while (2nd to Baz recent Masking an Image tut)

Just because I am so proud of myself and my growing knowledge of PS here is what I learned. Thanks to everyone here who has helped me along this very addicting dvd cover creating hobby.

Here was my original Image I wanted to modify (1)
Attached File  Original.jpg ( 136.01K ) Number of downloads: 147

Here it is after doing the Selective Color Adjustment (2).
Attached File  All_red.png ( 412.62K ) Number of downloads: 146

I did this adjustment a few times after changing some things. then saving those changes, and then reopening and doing more selective color adjustments. This seemed to work exactly as I wanted. Made the colors adjust more, in my mind.

Here is my final product.
Attached File  Original.jpg ( 136.01K ) Number of downloads: 147
Attached File  Red_lion_Fin.png ( 421.47K ) Number of downloads: 128

Opened modified image (2), then put original image as a new layer, used eraser tool so the red for the body would appear, but allow the metal to be unchanged.

Any ideas how I can some how make the cave background kinda look like its a volcano? In the modified red version it just seems to redish, and unreal to be a volcanic cave...
