Cover Gallery FAQ |
Question: How Can I Download Full-Sized Images? |
Answer:
There are two ways both are explained in this post: Accessing Full Sized Images.
|
Question: All of the images have a watermark on them, why? |
Answer: The intermediate images are all watermarked, as these are just a preview image. To download the full version, left click on the watermarked image, and a new window will open with the full sized image. Full sized images are very large, so depending on your internet connection, may take a while to download. Once the image has finished downloading, right click on the image, and select 'Save As'. Alternatively you can click the download button in the file information.
|
Question: I have already paid, but I keep being taken to a payment page, and can not download the full sized images, why? |
Answer: Please firstly make sure you are logged in. You must be logged in, so that you can be identified as an existing advanced member. If you are logged in, please check you are in one of the advanced groups. You can see this information in the top right window of any page. Member/guest/validating/banned groups do not have access to the gallery images. If you are not in an advanced group, but should be, please contact an administrator. If you are in an advanced group, then try a hard refresh on the download page of the image you are trying to download. This is usually done by holding down CTRL and pressing F5. If you are still unable to download, then you will need to delete your HiRes browser Cookie. If you are unsure how to do this, please see this link. If you are still not able to download after trying all of the above, then please contact an administrator.
|
Question: Why doesn't a new window open with my full sized image? |
Answer: The most probably cause of this, is pop up blocking software, preventing a new window from opening. Please try adding www.hirescovers.net to your list of trusted sites, or using the download button in the file information. Please refer to the creators of your pop up blocking software for more information.
|
Question: Why do all of the images have a red x, instead of the image? |
Answer: Please check your firewall is not preventing images from displaying. Try adding www.hirescovers.net to your list of trusted sites. Please refer to the creators of your firewall software for more information.
|

|
Question: My upload failed, as it was too large? |
Answer: Uploads are restricted to 10mb per file. Please make sure you save you jpg image at less than 10mb. If you are not sure how to do this with Photoshop, please see the question below
|
Question: My upload failed, as it was not 300dpi? |
Answer: All covers and labels MUST be uploaded at 300dpi. This is so the image prints to the correct size. If you are having problems saving a file at 300dpi in Photoshop, and keeping it below the 10mb threshold, then please try this:
Save your cover or label in Photoshop, using the Save For Web option (CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + S).
Open the saved cover or label jpg into Photoshop (It will now be 72dpi).
Select Image -> Image Size, from the top menu. In the image size window, take note of the current dimensions (ie 3118 px x 1748 px).
Change the Resolution from 72 Pixels/Inch to 300. This will also resize the Dimensions, so now change the resolution back to what it originally was (ie 3118 px x 1748 px). Your image size should now be the correct resolution and 300dpi.
Now all you have to do is save as normal (File - Save As - JPEG and Quality 10). Your image should now be a fraction of its original filesize, but still the exact same quality.
|
Question: What type and size of a file can I upload? |
Answer: Please make sure your cover or label is in jpg format, and saved as RGB, not CMYK. CMYK files will not display. All uploads are restricted to 10mb.
