Having this issue with Photoshop since today where the soft brush leaves a jagged edge. Very noticeable when using black/white

Document is in RGB, 8bit, sRBG color space. I think that's what I normally use anyways, and I tried changing it but it kept having the same problem.
Anyone know what's going on, I assume some setting got changed?

Have you tried adding a gradient blur to the mask? And have you checked that all settings are unticked, in the brush settings? And is it a standard PS round brush that you are using?

Yeah it's the basic brush and no settings are checked. I also noticed when I change the levels of a photo and start crushing the blacks slightly that the dark areas get the same artifacts and jagged look. That's why I figured it could be some sort of profile or color setting?

Hmm, and when I export the file to a jpeg, and open the jpeg, it looks normal and doesn't have the weird edges.

I don't know why that would be. Maybe someone else with more expertise can help.

I have issues too with the brush tool, since the last update from Adobe.

Could it be anything to do with the graphic processor settings, in Preferences - Performance?

Everything works fine at home, just something at my work computer.
