Just wondering if anyone has upgraded to Photoshop CS3 yet. What are the main updates, and is it worth buying?

beta wouldn't work for me, doubt I'll upgrade, unless I can get from the university.

I got my cs3 extended suite the other day, bought it from the university with a huge discount.
And the updates that I enjoy most is:
The "new" workspace, which feels more light since they've redone a few things and well.. it works.
Nondestructable filters which doesn't apply directly to the image but preserves the image so that you can edit the original pic and therefore affect the filterd effect too.
I've only been able to work in it once, so I cant say much more yet..

The thing I like the most with CS3 suite is that you can go from After Effects to Photoshop working with the same project, and pretty much just click and drag it.

I've been using CS3 for a couple of weeks now and i must say that CS3 is much better than CS2 once you get used to it. The workspace is improved. Extraction is more precise. Greyscale tone, mono colors and RGB profiles are enhanced. One other thing that I've experienced with CS3 is that it handles huge .PSD files much better than CS2 and doesn't need too much resources like in CS2. In preferences you can modify CS3 much better than in 2. you can edit the numbers of UNDO's, change the type preview size and a lot more. and I really liked the new tools like quick selection tool and some others. I reccomend it to you Bazz and every other artist who has been using CS2.
PS: forgot to say that Layer Menu Docks are more friendly and also the filter gallery.
just go and get it right now
