Hey all,
I am making my own covers (space-savers) for Hitchcock's films and hoping to get some input & feedback. I plan on doing 4 volumes for all of his (major) films.
I'm pretty happy with the front and spine...based on the UK Masterpiece collection design. I like the simplicity of it.
I'm pretty stuck on the back, though. Looking for ideas if you have them. Perhaps just simple borders.
As you can probably tell, this is my first cover....and I took 3 credits of graphic design in 2001
Some amazing work on this site...this isn't amazing but since I'm doing it anyway, I thought I'd share.
Thanks y'all

I know it is difficult with so many movies, but perhaps you can find a way of adding a little synopsis for each film?

You might check out my "Children of the Corn Collection (10)" for an idea for the back. I love what you have done with the front of this collection

For your first cover, this is very good!
I feel the layout of the back could be improved but at the same time it’s very hard to fit 10 different films onto the back. Maybe search around Google etc... for some inspiration?

Quick suggestions:
Keeping things nice and clean looks like a great choice!

On your front text, what if you remove the "capitalization" on the 'V' in Volume and the 'TCC' in The Complete Collection? And, maybe move the The Complete Collection text a tiny bit left so it lines up with the edge of the 'd' in Alfred? When you only have a few elements, making things line up perfectly can really help sell the minimalist look.

On the back, maybe the years could be in either red or blue to tie it into the spine/front?
Intermediate suggestion:
It looks like you might have enough space to go 5-wide on the posters -- maybe try that and use the newly available space to add some info about Hitchcock related to the period in which these movies came out?

Advanced suggestion:
It would be incredible if you could customize the front art to fit the titles in each volume. You could use the same cutouts and color styling, but replace the featured movies with the movies from each volume. This would make it a much larger project, but could be worth considering (or maybe keep in mind for a possible revision in the future).

Really good advice, guys. I took your suggestions about the formatting and plot summaries
I like the idea of a blurb about Hitchcock during this period, but I'm leaning towards keeping the back text and images at the size they are now, for readability. And to keep it simple.
Bunny, I had that exact same thought about customizing the front art. Definitely would like to that in the future, but above my head right now.
Attached a couple versions of the back.....leaning towards the red titles.

I prefer the red titles, as it matches the rest of the cover
