General site rules apply, plus the following:

Main preview for your WIP must be a flat 2D image.

Full sized images may be posted and they will be automatically watermarked to protect your work while allowing you to preview it in as much detail as you like.

• We encourage ALL of our members to be more active in the WIPs and to offer critiques on anything they feel is wrong with a design.
• This does not mean you can simply say that the cover is rubbish, but rather that you tell the artist where you think they are going wrong and offer suggestions on what might improve it.
• We have noticed most people would rather say nothing at all, than risk offending someone.
• This does not help anyone to learn.
• Try and help the artists by advising them with positive feedback and candid opinions of what you like or don't like.
• This not only benefits the creators, but also benefits those who wish to download their completed work(s).
• Please bear in mind that your idea of adherence to styles such as "retail" might be different from someone else's.
• Let's concentrate on design issues not on styles that's personal preference not an error.
• So please, rather than being quiet, chime in, help steer them in the right direction.
• And for those of you on the receiving end of the criticism, please do not take it personally.
• We are only trying to help.
• If you can't accept constructive criticism, then it will be best to not post in the WIP.
  
• When you have finished your W.I.P. and you have upped it to the gallery please say so in your W.I.P. then we can close that W.I.P.
  
• Please finish your WIP, we will close any WIP that is open for 60 days and the original author has not posted an update to it.
  
• If you wish to continue an unfinished WIP that has been closed -- PM a Mod and they will re-open it for you.
  
• Completed WIP's must be uploaded to the gallery

Separate 3D images are ok to show how the cover will look, but our members are unable to give you advice on a 3D image so make sure you have a flat 2D image as described in the first post before you add a 3D version.

I have provided action files, for use in Photoshop, that will create flat previews perfect for Work In Progress covers. By splitting the image into 3 pieces, it allows you to clearly see what the 3 individual parts of the cover would look like, as well as the overall design. While it is not going to become a rule of the site to make you use this method of previewing WIP's, I would like to encourage all members to do so. Each download comes with full instructions, a PSD file and a ATN file. The PSD file contains the template of the case, and the action contains all the necessary commands to put the preview together. Simply load the preview PSD, paste your cover and hit play! All you have to do then is save
