Awesome start Maybe reduce the purple on the characters though, so they don't blend into the background so much?

Did a bit more. Lessened the purple. Highlights and shadows.

I've tryed to do a cover by myself a few years ago and I knwo the resources are horrible for this movie.

Maybe you could try to add something in the background (like a dark corridor for example) - not with full opacity, only indicated. So the you could add some lights behind them to get it a bit more dynamic? And with some lights behind them the lights arround them would make more sence?

Added a dimly lit corridor with some lights. Not sure about this direction though, thinking the bare-to-the-bone approach worked a little better?

Removed the distracting light beams, pheew!

More shadows and highlights and rim lights done.

thats cape town, where part of the movie was filmed.

edit: iirc, the safe house in the beginning of the movie is in Paris. you could use a background of Paris as well.
