Highlight has requested promotion to the Contributor's group. They have been regularly uploading to the gallery for about 6 weeks, and has uploaded 25 covers. Does anyone know of any reason that they should not be promoted?

For example, if you know the artwork does not belong to them or in your opinion their artwork should not have been approved into the gallery, please let us know.

Here is their artwork uploaded for their contributor application:

Detroit

Making a Murderer

Better Watch Out

Ingrid Goes West

Hitchcock

The Punisher

Pan's Labyrinth

The Hitman's Bodyguard

Lowriders

Hellraiser

Jungle

Shot Caller

Atomic Blonde

Life

Requiem for a Dream

Raw

The Dark Tower

+ The Stanley Kubrick Collection (Here's The Shining)

I think the same as with cyrmor, been a member since "Joined: August 18 2008" and only just recently started being active which is pretty insane, unless he's been a subscriber and only downloaded covers. His covers are more then good enough, but give him a couple of month's so we can see how long he stays active before promoting him. Looks like it's a big trend to come here to HRC and try to get "contributor" status right away. I don't like it. Altho i'm not as paranoid as CT :p .

He's got some very nice work but maybe we should see if he is going to be more active before a decision is made.

I appreciate your opinions, but I personally don't think that is the case here with Highlight. There are also hundreds of members that have had an account here for years, and not been active, but then 'found' HiRes again and decided to stay a while.

I have no knowledge of him except that he just recently started posting here, so don't know if he's been active other places and how active he's been on the Swedish site he talked about. As I said in the Cyrmor thread, I don't think many of the members here that asks for promotion only do it in order to leech covers or resources, but I still think they should be active a couple of months before they get promoted.

I agree with Speed here, he may have signed up years ago but hasn't been active on this site forums or gallery... Think we need to see him around here more before he gets promoted.

Can a promoted member be tracked if granted a change in status? This way we could see if it's just for grabing resources.

As for Cyrmor?. He was active on cinefilm-hd.com. This site is closing on December 31st.... and does not have resources on file. Probably did not apply for resources.

Sorry I'm late on this.... beach and golf made me do it... ;)

We have had quite a few new non-English members signing up recently. I had presumed it was due to site closures, and people were looking for a new place.

I don't think we could easily automate tracking new members (but CT would have to verify that)

I also worry that making contributors wait too long will put them off becoming contributors, and we could end up missing out on some great contributions to the site.
