While I'm waiting for The Big Sleep to make it to blu-ray, I thought I'd work on a cover for it.

I like where the front is so far and just starting on the back.

I see that you really like the original film noir style with the shadow of blinds as the background. So, how about digging thought the original poster artwork for TT's that really pop? You could keep the text on the right side or center it like below, but the thin, slanted text isn't working at the moment; plus, the text is so far apart, it could be condensed a bit. I suggest looking through heritageauctions.com for original posters.

Thank you very much for the suggestion! I went and looked at a number of posters and lobby cards. It's odd but the film really doesn't have a standard TT. The trailer has it look one way, the movie posters have multiple looks and even the movie itself has a different one!
So I went with what seemed to be a common look between most of them which is the Arno Pro font. Also thanks to your suggestion, I realized that another common element is that the movie title is always in quotes. So I added those. Plus with moving the title and making it much bigger, I was able to place the bad guy Eddie Mars's photo in the shadow.
Also, I noticed in all the artworks that Bogie and Bacall's last names were always larger and bolder than their first names. So I updated that, too.
Also did a little more work on the spine.
Thanks again for the suggestion!!!

Interesting layout for the back

But i think on the front you should remove the WB logo and if it possible enlarge the two character and cut it at the Knees ( I'm no sure you understand my idead )

Thanks again, everyone!

I pity that such a great movie has not been released on blu-ray yet.
