Ok, so I had a request over at Vizion to make a DVD Superman Collection. I've been scrounging the net, and websites in the cover communities for a long time, to get hold of proper artwork. It's kinda tough for the first 4 movies... But here's what I have so far for the first movie.

These covers will be held in a 60s-70s comic book style similar to what I did many years ago for Superman Returns, and more recently my collab with Kernie for The Amazing Spider-Man (check my gallery for those covers).

Anyway - Soops the Movie, a very early start. Still looking for a backdrop. Wish I had a really good image of the Daily Planet building/Metropolis skyline... So far no luck with that.

And forgot - yes I will convert to BD when done. ;)

Yea, I'm sorry. They are a bit boring with only the characters on there. Here they are with a backdrop.

Still looking for better backdrop for 'The Movie'. Would prefer if we could see the Globe atop Daily Planet, but so far no luck with that. I read somewhere that Metropolis in the Smallville series is pretty cool, but I haven't been able to find any decent pictures :(

The city below Soops II is really from The Amazing Spider-Man. Does it matter?

As for the numbers - I've used the release month of the original movies - dec 1978 for The Movie, Dec 1980 for #2. The rest of the covers will be marked similarly.

Still need to work on cleaning and improving the Chris Reeves' images (and then add hair detail), but the layout is almost down. I just need to check with my old comic book fronts ;)

Anyway, I'm also adding a closeup of #2 so You can see the details.
