although I think he'd benefit from the WIP, rules don't require it.

i saw before someone proving his self and almost all his cover have a poster on front and 2 or 3 screens on the back and he did receive the contributor status.
so why not

I agree with venome and Movie; this guy's covers could benefit from WIP but there's no requirement for it... mostly the covers are :yawn: and very bland...

While I agree that his designs are bland, simple, and not very polished... I've seen worse pass through here at times.
If Contributor status allows him access to better resources and motivates him to put some of these through WIP, and with no rules regarding the caliber of the work itself, then I vote yes.
Let's see if he goes the WIP route. But in all honesty, I can see him trying the WIP once, uploading a few non-WIP covers, and disappearing. That seems to happen a lot in the cover scene. But I'm hoping he sticks with it and uses HiRes to improve his skills.

This is actually a tough one, I see some real good potential here if, as has been mentioned, he wants to learn more and go on with it.
I think I'd like to see something where to become a contributor not only do you have to have the required number of covers uploaded and approved but also a reasonable track record of using the and participating in the WIP
