Hey all!

I really like what kernie did by creating a thread just for his Comic Collection Showcase. So, I decided it might work better for me if I just have one showcase for my covers, and each new finished cover would go into this thread. That way those who want to follow, can easily.

My Collection from oldest to newest:

My Academy Award Best Picture Winners Collection:

My Academy Award Best Picture Nominees Collection:

So, my first update will be for my two new conversions:

I figured both Finding Nemo and Lion King will come in 15mm cases (at least here in North America). So, some might want to use the original cases instead of finding new ones. So I will be uploading 15mm versions of both.

Oh, and also did a Blu-ray conversion of my Sunset Boulevard cover:

Great idea to also start a showcase like this :)

Maybe you can make the spines clickable, with a link to the gallery for that cover?

Thanks nok!

I thought about that... but then realized that it would take about 70 separate images and many lines of coding... man that would be a lot of work... we'll see ;)

Hello again everyone... I didn't feel the need to create a showcase for my Hitchhiker's guide cover, so I never got to show you some of the specific detail elements that went into the cover, so, here is some of the things I did:

I created my cover to reflect the theme in the movie of the actual screen of the Guide.... whenever there was something the Guide needed to explain, it used animated type characters with these colors to show it... and I thought it would make a good cover!

It took me many hours to vectorize many of the elements of the cover, the ones that weren't from images of the movie were made myself from memory.

The vectoring of images from the movie was especially hard because some of the details were really hard to see and had to be interpreted. In some cases (the three characters on the back), the image two of them came from was only a partial view of their body, so I had to make up the rest myself... You can see that in the second preview below.

Here are a couple of the vectors made from images:

If anyone is interested in learning more about Illustrator vectoring, let me know... I might be doing up some sort tutorial in the near future!
