The cover World Stuff
Where did your nickname come from?
Well, that's simple; bpmford is my name: Bradley Philip Moorey FORD
What part of the world do you come?
I was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and have lived there my whole life.
What got you into designing covers/labels in the first place?
Well, living in Canada got me the wonderful privilege of receiving movies (Blu-rays) with both english and french on them. They would put the French Title on the spine every time, even if it was like '1408' on one side and '1408' on the other, they still had to do it!
So, that's what got me looking for something to replace it; I actually went around looking for just a scan of an American Cover, and found this whole cover world.
It wasn't until a few months into downloading covers for myself, that I gave a crack at my own designs; and my first ones were my Academy Collection.
Is there anyone on the cover/label making scene that has inspired you?
There are three designers I can remember really got me wanting to do my own covers: Demonology, Bunny Dojo, and dv8pdx. Those three guys I met outside of cover sites, on forums dedicated to custom covers.
What would be your best advice to any up and coming designer?
Don't be afraid to ask for help! No matter what stage we are in with skill and talent, we can always learn more. And, to not give up… Being a new designer can be difficult; not only learning the program, but trying to take the advise from others and not getting overwhelmed by it. If you do stick with it, over time you find it gets easier and becomes something you love to do!
What’s your favourite cover/label you have made?
Hmmm, that's difficult. I actually will say my favourite is the first cover I ever made with Photoshop; Final Fantasy: Advent Children
What’s your least favourite cover/label you have made?
The Thomas Crown Affair…. And the reason for that… Every time I see the cover i still think it looks like Pierce is wearing a Batman hood on the front! Drives me nut!
What’s your favourite cover/label that someone else has made?
Demonology's Slumdog Millionaire… It was the first cover I remember that blew me away!

Not that I'm aware of... but that's why I don't answer the phone when i don't know the number!

Nope, only child… Have a step brother and sister that live across the country tho!
What was your childhood like? Share an interesting "growing up" story.
My childhood was spent mostly with my best friend, Chris, who lived across the alley from me. I'm bad for remembering childhood stuff… hell, I'm bad for remembering yesterday… But I do remember playing Hide-and-seek one time.
My friend and I were completely opposite… he would be terrible at hiding, and I would always try to be the best. In fact when I would seek, I would try to make others laugh to give up their spots. When I was hiding, I wold try to come up with spots that were impossible to find… My best hiding spot ever was… The Deep Freeze! Yea, that's right… Why would anyone think to look it there, it is crazy! Yea, it was crazy, i was frekin cold!!! But it worked, my friend could not find me to save his life! He went nut. And when it was all over, I told them where I hid, and ended up getting in trouble with my mom! It was worth it!
What is your favourite food?
Pizza… Specifically, the Pierogi Pizza from Boston Pizza!
Tell us about your best vacation.
2000… New Years… Las Vegas! Let me tell you, if you were going to be anywhere during the millennium new year, it was Las Vegas. It was absolutely crazy, You couldn't even move walking down the strip!! I remember reports once I got home that vegas had close to 7 million people on the strip at midnight and another 12 million in the casinos!
What is your favourite type of music/band?
Classic Rock… Favourite Band U2 (Yes, they are classic too!)
What is your favourite movie of all time?
Sunshine (2007)
What one place would you like to visit?
Australia
What other hobbies do you have besides movies & graphics?
Photography… I love making these plaques that I design from my own photos.
What is the best thing that ever happened to you?
I'd say getting into Business School at the university… I never thought I'd be good enough for it!
What is the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you?
While at a Golf Tournament type thing hosted by our layers, I decided to have a lot to drink to compensate for my horrible golfing abilities… The whole tournament was just for fun, so I didn't mind… The alcohol seemed to create a skill curve for me… I was terrible at the beginning while sober; then I got better as I got tipsy; then I went to even worse when I was sloshed… By my las hole, I couldn't even hit the ball… And by the time i hit it, I didn't even drive it off the tee-off green… And apparently that means, in golfing rules, that I had to put my pants around my ankles, then go retrieve my ball! … But I was drunk, so it didn't bother me… until the next day when i realized I did that with out layers around! Good thing they found it funny!

Donald Trump… That man is the ultimate businessman!

Being around my family… they are really the most important things in my life!
