The "Header" is everything from the showcase-shoutbox up, and it will stay with you throughout the entire site - EVEN IN THE GALLERY! There is a lot going on in the header, so I will try to break it down, from top to bottom.
Logo - click on the logo at any point and you go back to the home page - simple enough.
Menu - completely redesigned. Multi-Level, and the purpose was this: You can get almost anywhere on the site from anywhere else using the menu. Want to get to the WIP forum? Forums->Artwork->W.I.P. Upload to the Gallery? Galleries->Movie Covers/Labels->Upload. You get the picture.
Login/Logout - nothing special
Search Box - Same as before
Status Bar - This is the dark blue area below the menu. It can hold a lot of information, and you can decide what to put there. Use the menu option MyAccount->Status Bar Prefs to see what you can do. Most of the items are clickable as well...so if there is an item of interest, a click will take you there.
Showcase - Sit back and watch the show. You can adjust the speed, you can turn off fading if it looks choppy (it is fairly CPU intensive), you can even go back and see the previous items.
Shoutbox not too much different (although you SHOULD click on "not a SEARCHBOX" just to see what it does).
You may also want to see the options available in My Account->Header Settings, very useful if you use a widescreen display, or if you are on a smaller screen and use 1024 display mode.
The last big change is the Gallery itself. It looks a LOT like the forums now.
