Hi all,
I've recently moved from the UK to Australia and during the move my trusty Epson Photo R200 died! I'm now in the market for a nice shiny new photo quality printer that can also print to CD/DVD and doesn't cost a bloody fortune in ink cartridges, any suggestions? I thought I'd ask the good people of Hi-Res because, let's face it, you probably use printers more than most people, cheers!

I used to have an Epson R300 (which gave me nothing but hell) and I recently replaced it with a Canon PIXMA MP610. My new Canon is by far the best printer I have owned!

Have a Canon PIXMA 4300.
+ Great printer. Great quality printouts.
- Expensive ink cartridges.

Canon Pixma for me as well... although it's an oldie (the MP500), the print results are still great imo. Canon got the advantage above some other brands for seperating the color cardridges. Seperating red, yellow and blue into three cardridges instead of one for all color saves a lot of cash.
I am printing in a unconventional way thought. Using 250gr laserprint paper on an inktjet and with the settings on glossy photopaper.

I had an R300, now I have the RX595.
They are both Epson and they work great.
No complaints.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the input; at least now I've got a starting point! I bought an Epson R300 too, from eBay; it made some very interesting noises but I never did manage to get it to print anything, so now I've got about 40 or 50 ink cartridges for an R200, R300 etc, that I'll probably be disposing of on eBay once I finally dig them all out of storage, I'll give everyone at Hi-res a heads up when I'm ready, thanks again!

We just got an Epson Artisan 800 and I love it so far. It is network enabled via Ethernet or wireless and works with our Windows and Mac computers. It can print and scan over the network and has a separate tray for the regular paper, photo paper, and discs. I have printed quite a few discs and they all look great and it doesn't seem to have used that much ink.
