Hello all,
While I was browsing for Cover of the Year nominations (I was doing it the hard way until they simplified the search process), I spotted a couple labels that were made from covers I had submitted here. I find this disturbing because I didn't make them.
Labels are where I draw the line when it comes to customization. Replacing the cover is one thing, because it doesn't affect the disc; hell, the DVD's fine even if the box is gone. But putting a new label on a disc can endanger its playability, and can make it unsellable in the event I need to get rid of it.
If I had intended for labels to accompany my covers, I'd be designing them and submitting them myself.
If you've tried contacting me in the past asking either that I design a label to go with a cover or for permission to make the label yourself, you've likely received no reply because, to be blunt, I ignore these messages. In which case you can take my answer as a "No."
I realize there's no real way I can stop this from happening, but at the very least I should make my feelings on this clear:
I DON'T DO LABELS.
So please, don't do them for me.
Thank you.
