). First off, if you are unclear what a "graphic worm" is, please see Marker's post here, he does an awesome job explaining it. So, I am soliciting artists to join in making...
The Hi-ResCovers Sci-Fi Movie Time-Line worm
Some guidelines:
• Each segment will represent a year, starting with 2008
• The theme for each segment will be a Sci-Fi movie (or multuiple Sci-Fi movies) from that year. The year in IMDB for the movie will be considered the official year. Also, check out this wikipedia link, it contains a listing of Sci-Fi movies by year (although I cannot guarantee that they will match up with the year as represented on IMDB). The movie titles will be included in the worm's captions along with the artist, so including the title in the segment is not mandatory.
• We will be building this worm Right to Left, so that as you are creating a new image, your right edge must blend in with the previous image's left edge. This has two benefits: 1) the worm will "read" like a normal time-line, and 2) when you go to the page, you will immediately see new additions instead of scrolling to the far right.
• I like the size of Marker's worm, so we will stick with that image size: 600x450.
• I am going to try to keep this moving, and may impose a time limit on finishing an image (I'm thinking 5 days is PLENTY generous).
• If you plan on joining this as an artist, please do a google search on "graphic worm" and see some of the many examples on the web, and look for what makes for good segments and bad segments especially with regards to blending.
I may have left some detail out, so reply with any questions.
I do not have a specific segment in mind for myself, and I do not think I need to start it...so please PM me if you would like to join in, and hopefully we will have the first segment up soon!
