Hey Kernie, do you know something that we don't know. It has been rumored for at least the past decade that Batman: The Television series was coming out, but nothing ever happened. I love the covers and will be please to make space on the shelf for them to show where they will be in the library when they finally do come out. As always You are the Man.

Not sure if you read Kernie's statement, but your post seems like a request :nunu:

I know nothing more than everyone else about the current status of the Batman TV series on DVD. I'm just a guy with a laptop. As far as I know, there's far too much legal red tape to deal with before the show ever sees a DVD release. One of the main hurdles is that Fox owns the show, while WB owns the Batman character. But I also heard that music issues and even some sort of licensing issue with the Batmobile design is part of the difficulty in getting the show released.

I just made covers for it because it certainly deserves to be in my Comic Book Collection. In the event that Hell freezes over, pigs fly, and the Adam West Batman show gets an official DVD release, my covers will be already be there.

I don't think anyone reads my statements, that's why no one listens to my "no requests" request. They just grab my covers and run.

I was making a joke. That is why the whistling. There never was, and never will be, a REQUEST there. I realize now, it was a lame joke as some didn't get it. I also know of all the legal red tape that has been associated with the Batman (1966) Series. To quote Kernie:

I also hope for that day. He has made all the covers I need and want (and a few I am patiently waiting for). My second to the last sentence says

Code: Select all

I love the covers and will be please to make space on the shelf for them to show where they will be in the library when they finally do come out.

Kernie has made a lot of covers and labels (200+). I have used a few of his and I have actually went out and bought the DVD or Blu ray just to use some of his magnificent covers. I hope he never changes. I hope he gets the needed time off before school starts. I for one would hate to loose him.

As I always will say:
Kernie

Code: Select all

YOU ARE THE MAN!

They just announced a Star Wars Blu Ray Saga set for 2011, so maybe we'll get Batman by 2021. Those dvd sets would sell like gangbusters if they put them out, every fanboy I've ever known is clammering for those. Every two bit bootlegger at a comic con has made bank selling copies of it, they need to get over the hurdles. As you said you can buy the movie on blu but you can't get the series unless you have TVLand or a bootleg. BS they need to pull their heads out, crap like that is why the Hobbit probably won't happen. MGM will be bought soon and they won't want to play nice with WB to put out the Hobbit. At some point the rights for the Batman show will revert back to WB since they own Batman and then we'll get it, course by that time it'll all be digital downloads and streaming...

P.S. Nice work on the Dark Days cover!

Here's three more updates to the collection!

First up are the 1940's black-and-white film serials "Batman" and "Batman and Robin!" Both were released on DVD a few years back by Sony to tie into the "Batman Begins" buzz. As far as I know, this completes every single Batman-related movie/TV/animated project to date, with the exception of "Brave and the Bold: Season 2," which I'm just waiting on a full episode list to complete. I might be wrong, but I think that's all the Batman stuff! :D :D

Batman & Robin: The 1949 Theatrical Serials Collection:

And, of course, here are the Kirk Alyn 1948 "Superman" Theatrical Serials! As with Batman, I think this completes everything Superman-related for my collection, with the exception of any future projects (like upcoming DC Universe animated movies).

Enjoy!!! :D :D :D

I was about to mention that, that should complete the Batman/Superman collections, anything else and it has to be new :)

So congratulations, on that alone, it's an accomplishment in it's self

Though the two 40's Batman covers don't have much to do with either series I've admired the artwork for sometime, bought them when they first came out, so thanks I'll finally be able to replace the covers, nice work on both of them I like how you've aged the bat logos on the back, nice touch :)

And thanks for the last Superman cover, all three of the keyart works well with your template

Now we all wish that Marvel (or however owns the properties) would get there acts and start releasing more of their titles on DvD, ie. 90's Spiderman and so on, please Marvel get your fingers out

Anyhow well done yet again, suppose it's getting a little hard to think or find what else to do next, but I'm sure you have a good idea, we'll leave it at that :)

It's just a waiting game now for the DvD releases, on which of your covers to use next :)

Thanks again Andy much appreciated, it will be 244 covers used so far with these 3 so thanks :D
