Well not that's cleared up,wow that's quite some time and effort put into it. I now see why a request is a real pain in the a$$, if takes that along to create a cover and get everything you need, it would send me into a frenzy :cussing: with people asking for a wide variety of things. Well at least for the time being I tinker around and see what can learn and maybe make some stuff for myself :giggle: . Won't be hi-res but I can live with that for now. maybe i might even be able to fulfill some of my own requests.

Well maybe in the future I might be able to post artwork on here obviously won't be as good as yours but well see what happens. thanks for all the info and i'll keep looking forward to whatever you make next.

Why not start something and post it in the WIP (Work-in-Progress) section so that you can get pointers from other designers here? I've seen some members make some serious progress just by following the advice of all the seasoned veteran designers that are more than willing to help out a beginner.

We all started somewhere. I don't even want to look at some of my early Photoshop stuff... it's horrendous.

Sweet additions! :D

And while we're on the time subject, do you remember how much it took you to create the basic template alone? I'm guessing it must have taken quite a few hours of playing around and experimenting. Did you have the basic idea in your mind, did you sketch it up on paper or something first?

It took a couple of weeks to nail down this template. I started it with the first volume of X-Men: The Animated Series and it kind of evolved from there. I never intended this to be a collection for every comic thing under the sun, I think it was just to have a cool set for the X-Men cartoon.

I had a WIP for it here, but I think I started the WIP after several weeks of experimentation. I was actually trying to make the front out of comic book cover art before David Nakayama's awesome DVD artwork popped up online and I knew I had to use it.

I don't usually sketch anything, I probably should, but I just start arranging things in Photoshop and seeing what works. I remember a "eureka" moment being when I put the X logo on the back and realized that I could use that space for all the other characters' logos as well (Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, etc.), and the strip of comic art on the back was also a key moment too.

This might sound like I'm patting myself on the back too much, but I'm constantly amazed at how well other titles fit into a template that was designed mainly around X-Men. It's a really versatile template that allows for everything from The Dark Knight to Josie and the Pussycats without feeling too forced and I wish I could say I was smart enough to have planned it all from the beginning, but it was a bunch of happy accidents, really. Some covers work better than others, but I think on the whole, this template has served me quite well. :D :D :D

I'm the one that thanks YOU you don't need to thank me you've enhanced and enriched my collection's look, fantastic work, every cover. Especially the Rocketeer (still my favorite at least until Thor comes out I'm betting on an awesome factor of 138689974 out of 10 on that one.

Yeah, I'm going to hold off on next year's entries until more resources become available, so for those expecting stuff for Thor, Captain America, Green Lantern, X-Men: First Class, or anything else that's more than 6 months away, I'm holding off until I can make the covers really cool with more artwork than just the teaser images we've seen so far.

In the meantime, I hope to have more stuff to share by next week sometime, I'm taking a much-needed vacation with the g/f this week! :D :D :D

But I promise that when I return, a long-awaited classic will make its appearance in my collection!! (Ssshhh... keep your speculations to yourself, I don't want anyone spoiling the surprise!) :P :P

So I'm back from vacation with a bunch of new covers that bring my DVD collection count to 250 covers! Not sure if I can hit 300, as it's getting increasingly more difficult to find resources for some of the older pre-1980's stuff, but I'll do my best.

First up is a series that has been a glaring omission to this collection so far: the 1960's Adam West "Batman" television series!

I originally held off on this for two reasons: 1) it doesn't look like we'll be seeing this series officially released on DVD anytime soon and 2) the lack of hi-res resources due to the lack of an official DVD release was going to pose a challenge. And boy was it a challenge. I did my best to make my own keyart with what was available and it was extremely difficult. I couldn't even find two usable hi-res images of Robin, so I had to use the same one for the three covers he appears on. Adam West's pose on Season 1 made it tough to fit anyone to either side of him and keep their faces visible. And the Joker on Season 1 is only Cesar Romero from the arms up, the lower body is from a tuxedo model I found on Google Images. A lot of color-correcting and compositing later, and you get the three keyarts below. They're far from perfect, but I think they'll get the job done.

As for the disc count, I tried to estimate how many discs someone would need to get the whole season together. Season 1 had 34 episodes (6 discs?), Season 2 had 60 episodes (8 discs?), and Season 3 had 26 episodes (4 discs?); and of course, I'm counting each part of the "two-parters" as one episode, so the episode lists on the back are really crammed in there. Let me know if anyone needs additional discs, but I think these should work.

Anyway, here they are finally, at long last. I'm glad to add these to the collection, even though we'll probably never see an official DVD release for this classic series thanks to all the legalities and rights issues. :( :(

The movie, however, is available on DVD and Blu-ray (we can't get the show on DVD, but we can get the movie on Blu?!), so I've included covers for it as well.

And the other update today is the upcoming, direct-to-DVD sequel "30 Days of Night: Dark Days" on both DVD and Blu-ray.

And finally, a look at the whole Comic Book Collection at the moment. 250 DVD's and 86 Blu-rays!
