Check slashfilm.com they have a high quality THOR trailer posted earlier today. I asked in the message box if anyone saw it, no response :( It looks AMAZING. I admit I had some doubts but it looks like it will fit solidly with Iron Man at the very least. I predict that your prediction of Complete Avengers covers is correct! I watched several episodes of W and the X men with my son today he's very intrigued by the action it's pretty good so far. There is an awesome looking Avengers cartoon coming this fall and a new X-men and Spider-Man cartoon on Disney XD, no word on whether they'll be loose continuations of Spectacular and W and the X men that I've heard. Seems a bit silly to keep rebooting them. That's what they do with the superhero animated stuff even if it hadn't been due to Disney buying Marvel we'd have only gotten 100 episodes, they get syndication and then they put something else out. The Batman---Batman Brave and the Bold---Teen Titans---Legion---Young Justice. I use DC as an example because they seem to restart frequently, and IMO they have better animated properties. Batman Under the Red Hood is quite good, the Jonah Hex mini is really cool as well. Supposidly they will have live action shorts of marvel properties in theaters starting with Thor and Cap next summer! My guess would be mini origins for Hawkeye and Wasp (not yet confirmed for Avengers yet). I can't wait until Fox's rights lapse and Sony's rights lapse and we can see a new avengers movie with wolvie and spidey! Yes I am a Bendis fan!

Ssshhh... I already have an "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" cover in the works (pretty much done, just waiting for an episode list).

I doubt the new X-Men (which I hadn't heard of) and Ultimate Spider-Man cartoons will have anything to do with WATXM and Spectacular Spidey. There's probably still fanboys out there who spend their time trying to connect the timelines of X-Men: Evo and WATXM, but Marvel shows pretty much stand on their own with no real continuity between them (except for some of the '90s toons, and even they were connected very loosely).

Marvel seems to have frequent behind-the-scenes trouble when it comes to their animated properties (usually financial troubles and the fact that they farm out their animation to random overseas companies that go bankrupt or whatever), which is why many of them are cancelled well before their time (Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four: WGH, Spectacular Spidey, WATXM). DC, on the other hand, always has the backing of Warner Bros. Animation which is why they've had more success keeping shows on the air. DC's problem, however, seems to be that they have a 52-episode limit (apparently the new number needed for syndication, I think it used to be 65) for all their shows, and they put stupid embargos on certain characters for weird reasons (hence why no Batman villains showed up in Justice League Unlimited or why Aquaman disappeared after a few episodes of JLU). Again, money and merchandising are the greatest concerns when it comes to making these cartoons, creativity and quality storytelling usually take a backseat (although we've been fortunate that most of these shows have had quality storytelling as well).

As for Under the Red Hood, I thought it was easily the best of the DC Animated Universe films so far. I've been pretty indifferent to a lot of what they've done so far (they're all decent, but nothing outstanding), so I was quite surprised by how well Red Hood's story was executed. They've been steadily improving with each new movie, so let's hope the trend continues... :D :D :D

Oh, and slashfilm's Thor footage has been removed due to copyright infringement, pesky lawyers... :(

Okay... I know I can be a diva/drama queen/Negative Nancy/whiny little b**** sometimes when it comes to this collection, I'll fully admit it...

That being said, I have to get something off my chest... I've been pushed into having to say it again for all the new members: PLEASE DO NOT POST LISTS OF REQUESTS OR PM ME WITH LISTS OF DEMANDS (or what seem like demands due to language barriers). I realize I've been a bit inconsistent as to how I welcome requests and suggestions in this thread, so I'll take the blame for most of that. But I've been receiving quite a few PM's lately from folks who've joined this site in the last six months or so that want to know if/when I'll be adding a particular cover to my collection.

Some have provided lists. I hate lists. Especially now. Not to toot my horn, but I've made 230+ covers already and I'm trying to add new ones on at least a once-a-week basis (often more frequently than that), you'd think downloading and printing even half of what I've done so far would keep people busy long enough for me to get around to what's still missing from the collection.

I know what's missing and I'm working on it, or working on finding resources. That's the biggest issue now. As the collection moves further away from high-profile titles like "The Dark Knight," which has a plethora of imagery to work with, it becomes increasingly more difficult to find keyart that I feel works well with my collection. Maybe I'm being a perfectionist or just plain picky, but I'm trying not to use low-res and/or crappy artwork on this collection. In some cases, I even have to fabricate the keyart myself (like Spawn or Generation X using whatever resources I can get my hands on). I don't want to make something that I don't think looks good (or in some cases, at least adequate) and the true fans of this collection (you know who you are, guys :D :D ), deserve better than for me to just slap something together with crummy resources.

I'm aware that I'm preaching to the choir, as request lists haven't really been posted in the forum. I don't even think some of those members have read this thread or most of their questions would have been answered.

Again: this is a collection for comic book-based covers. The property/characters/whatever had to originate in a comic book for me to add it to the collection. That's my one and only concrete rule for this collection.

And please, don't assume that just because something is available on DVD/Blu-ray/Flip Book somewhere in the world that keyart is readily available (I have very limited direct access to that stuff and have to ask others to find it for me... thanks, MovieGrafix! :D ) or even that it should already be a part of my collection.

I apologize for having to say this. I know I sound like a big jerk for doing it (most of it's because I just woke up after a short night of not enough sleep). But I hope most folks can understand where I'm coming from. It's very to discouraging to have made a collection this large only to have some people wonder why more of what they're looking for isn't available. I must make it clear that I'm not referring to any one member in particular, it's just a bunch of (sometimes ludicrous) requests that have been building over the last few months and it's starting to take a toll on my ambition. It makes me feel like nobody will ever be satisfied.

Trust me, I'm trying to get to everything, and I'm closer now than I've ever been to having a completely complete collection (although there's still miles to go).

It's been 17 months (I think) since I started this collection and I haven't stopped yet. I don't plan to stop anytime soon. But the quickest way to get me to stop is to discount everything I've already done by asking for everything I haven't been able to do yet. Remember, I don't get paid to make these.

Okay, rant over... I'm really sorry for doing it. And thanks again to everyone who understands the time and effort it takes to put these covers together and for supporting this collection, it wouldn't have been possible without all the incredible interest and support that the great members on this site provide. I know these requests are from people who like my stuff and want to see more (how can I be upset about that?), and I certainly don't want to alienate newcomers who are interested in this collection, but I would appreciate if they understand what goes into making these covers and that I'm working hard to get to all of their requests at my own pace.

Again, sorry, sorry, sorry for being a cranky sourpuss... :(

I should be back later today or tomorrow with some more updates... :D :D

Sometimes it just needs to be said kernie, like I've said before excellent collection and great work. Always love checking in to see what new cover you've come up with. Keep up the good work.

There have been a lot of new people on that don't understand that you can find a list of everything just as easily as they can, or you already know which you can and cannot do. When people ask for covers that are next to impossible due to lack of resources, they have to understand. It's like when I was a kid asking for toys and my parents didn't have money, I still wanted the toy even though they didn't have the means. You're right to tell people that you do what you do and I don't think anyone could be disappointed, and if they are, hey you still have fans that get it even if everyone doesn't. I hope my asking about a Double Feature cover for the Tales from the Crypt movies didn't add in to any frustration, if so, I'm sorry.

After I pick up Kick-a$$ next weekend I should be ready to up a pic of the collection, two full shelves worth of awesome!

Kernie your none of the things that you say you are, you have every right to express your feelings towards your collection, you've done an amazing job with what resources are available.

I know as this collection goes on how difficult it is to find artwork, even the guys who find some of the artwork for you must now be finding it hard to to fill your requests.

Having read through the recent posts, some of the requests that have been made could possibly be impossible to fill due to the lack of resources, people have to understand that a film, may it be for TV or released theatrically, that was made 30 or 40 years ago, may not have any or very little resources. As time goes by these resources get lost or destroyed and NOT everything can be found on the "World Wide Web"

I think the younger members these days think that the WWW has always been available since time began and that its there own little archive to find something they need, how untrue this is, it's only around 20 years old, google its self is only 12 years old.

So to conclude, don't assume that everything is available, and can be made, just be grateful that Kernie has gone to such a great effort to create these 230 or so covers in his own time and for no profit, just for the satisfaction of creating such a memorable collection.

Not to idealize Kernie, but I'll quote X-Men's Magneto to Pryo "You are a god among insects. Never let anyone tell you different" :D

Everything else you make from now on will be a bonus :thumb:

Thanks, guys! You know I've always valued your support and hope you know none of the above was intended towards you. And punisherchad, the TFTC Double Feature did not contribute to the frustration and I'm hoping to get to it soon, but you know how I work, I'm more interested in tackling new covers than revisiting old ones. :P :(

As promised, here's three new (indie artsy Sundance) updates... first up are the two films based on comics by Daniel Clowes and both directed by Terry Zwigoff: "Ghost World" and "Art School Confidential."

Ghost World:

Art School Confidential:

And here's "American Splendor," partially based on the comics by Harvey Pekar, who sadly passed away a few weeks ago. So consider this my little tribute to a longtime member of the underground comics community. Not sure why I put a coffee mug on the back, couldn't think of anything else and I'd seen a lot of pics of Harvey with a coffee mug nearby, as well as a lot of coffee mugs near him in the comics as well.

Enjoy! :D :D :D
