I actually really enjoyed this film, and I was not expecting to. Probably because it is based on a true story, it made it quite a fascinating watch :)

Basic Instinct (1992) - 8/10

Cover by topmeasure

I can't remember ever watching this whole movie in one sitting before, I've always known and heard about the film, just can't remember watching it.
Seeing how highly i rate it, I'm pretty sure I would remember. It also might just have been 25+ years ago :p .
This is what I consider a great thriller that keeps you wondering, and nothing like the movies you see today, where you know everything 5 min into the video, because of bad writing.
There was never a moment were I was bored or didn't pay attention, now I wouldn't go as far as saying it keeps you on the edge of your seats, but it certainly keeps you "in" your seat. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't go into what happens. I just want to say that it's a brilliant thriller that I can recommend everyone to watch.
The acting by Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone in particular is brilliant. Also a big shout out to Jeanne Tripplehorn who also did a great job.
Conclusion: If you were like me and haven't seen it yet, then you really should watch it when you have the time, especially if you like good thrillers.

I'm pretty sure most of us have already seen this one ages ago! lol - I agree with your rating, and may I add that I'm shocked that yours is higher than IMDb.

Yeah, I actually thought it would be higher rated than 7.1 (same as The Jacket btw) and I'm not liking it for the same reason Baz likes it, I like it because it's actually a good thriller. :)

one battle after another 2/10 wasn't my jam, Leo did OK but other wise it was a snore fest for me.

The Dark Half (1993) 5/10 acting was decent but the story wasn't one of my favorites.

Anaconda (2026) 2/10 it only gets a two for some cameos, other it was the wannabe scary movie of the anaconda franchise

Greenland 2: Migration 4/10 the first one was better, this just feels like every other post crises film

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 4/10 i just cant connect with this franchise unfortunately

Now You See Me: Now You Don't 7/10 i think i enjoyed the others more but its still a fun movie

Your scores are very similar to what I would give. I would give One Battle After Another (2026) a much higher score though. Although it was not one of his best, and it did drag in places, I didn't think it was too bad. I was disappointed though, as I have been really enjoying all of DiCaprio's movies the last several years, and this one didn't live up to my expectations.
