That movie sounds boring to be honest Speed, lol - No matter, it's not a movie I would ever anticipate to watch, even before your review, plus not a fan of Adrien Brody.
One Battle After Another (2025) - 7.5/10
Cover by Ace!
Last night, I watched "One Battle After Another" with Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro and a young talented female actor, Chase Infiniti.
Each and everyone of the actors mentioned here did a FANTASTIC job. The beginning of the movie is a bit wacko and I almost stopped watching but thought I would continue for a bit. I'm glad I did because it turned out to be quite good. It's not based on a true story, but... somewhat close.
My rating is a solid 7.5 because I can't rate it as low as 7 but it's not quite an 8.

I just added some small changes to your post, hope it's okay
That's nice to hear, I liked the trailer and thought it looked like a cool movie, so thanks for insuring me with your review

This movie was a 6 or 7 until a certain point in the film, I just can't shut off all logic and be a "complete idiot" while watching movies, so when I see these dumb decisions or things happening, then I instantly react. So the movie is a decent/okay action movie, there was a budget explosion here and there but all in all an okay film, until it became a "bad" movie. It all started going south when "Jake" and "Drea" leaves behind a book that's turned on it's back spread open on the correct page so that the bad guys can find out where they are going, only that what's in the book is a decoy. One of the baddies is using a flashlight at the map to point out the coordinates where they are going, while "bad guy" does this "bad boss Volkov" can for some reason see fingerprints on one point of the map and instantly know that this is the place they need to go. Also for no reason at all it was a "blue light" flashlight so they could easily see the fingerprints (which in itself should mean anything at all).
When Jake and Drea arrive at the vault, Drea needs to shoot down some solar panels, she uses a grenade launcher and only hits the top av the mountain (the panels are spread really wide) and this is apparently enough to cause the whole mountain to start falling down, taking out the whole solar panel. They then cut Jake doing his thing for a couple of seconds and then back to her leaving in the car and still some solar panels are falling down (although they had already fallen) (the explosion is very budget).
Jake leaves the scene as he thought he was getting something else then a bomb.
A short while after this the "freedom fighters (Drea and her guys)" are going to transport a nuclear bomb with a truck, but suddenly the "bad guys" arrive on their train which is on the railroad just next to this safe/secret place where they are transporting the bomb from. Instantly there's like 10 soldiers on the train, all with machine guns shooting at the "freedom fighters" who are trying to transport this nuclear bomb. Amazingly enough not one single bullet hits the bomb and even when Volkov blows up the truck they were going to transport the bomb in (which is max 2 meters from the bomb), the bomb doesn't even get a scratch.
Volkov and the bad guys leaves with the nuclear bomb on their train, it's now night time and all the guards/army men he has with him on the train are now just hanging around inside one of the carriages (funnily enough they were out guarding the train on the way to the bomb). Our hero Jake goes back to help out Drea and them (he had a change of heart), only to see nothing but carnage. He finds Drea which is looking at him (I swear to god, it was just like a kid trying to lie to it's parents, saying they are sick and can't go to school) saying this and that in the worst acting I've seen in a long time.
On to the next thing Jake and Drea are of course going to stop Volkov and his train so they drive after it (making some shortcuts), at one point Drea says there's the train and they instantly cut to a outside view of the car driving directly at the side of the train with flood lights on (like even a blind man could see the train, why is this a line she has to say, you'll understand if you actually decide to watch this movie).
They then cut the lights so they don't get spotted (how no one spots floodlights at the train is beyond me, but as I said all the guards are inside one carriage.
Anyways, Jake jumps down on train, kills bad guys, while Drea is blowing up the bridge that the train need to cross. Jake manages to get off the train before it goes to the grown (blowing up). The nuclear bomb is still fully fine, according to Jake who tells his employee he can find it at the bottom of the lake.
I mean come on... Seriously, who quality checks scripts these days? There so much stupidity, it's like, unless you're watching a comedy, you're very likely to be disappointed (all tho there is one great movie here and there). If I'm an actor, I'm reading this script and going: Like what do you mean??? it's so bad.
I'm sorry for the rant, but the movie was fine the first hour or so, the last 40 min really just killed it.

Easily one of my top and favorite movies from the last few years. This gives me some classic lethal weapon vibes as well with the humor.from start to finish i loved it, i truly hope it gets at least few more sequels. Batista and Momoa are fantastic together. The one liners and throw away jokes just make it that much better

It's definitely on my wish list and your review is certainly encouraging.
As for Friendship, it's simply weird and stupid. I'll give it a solid 1.5 rating, lol
After a victorious win for Canada's Ice Hockey Men's tournament at the Olympics (I had to put that in, lol) we watched the movie ROOFMAN with Channing Tatum & Kirsten Dunst. I'm not a fan of Tatum, but hubby chose the movie, so here we are.
They both did a great job and surprisingly had a good chemistry together. It was quite entertaining and fun to watch. It's apparently based on a true story, and "mostly" believable. Sure, why not.
