Last film or TV show you watched and rating!
Heads of State (2025) 4/10
- Even with my brain turned off and only trying to enjoy the action for what the action was, I still really struggle with this movie. There is just way too much nonsense happening. A blind person could see how little sense parts of this movie makes.
Spoiler Block
We can start off with how one spy manages to kill the whole air force one security with a knife.
Very impressive how Noel can ask Sam if he's okay after hearing a lot of shooting from a bunker in a whole different room, but it's only when he actually gets shot at she screams "are you okay" like how on earth would she know that.
Then we have the helicopter which manages to drag this huge safe off the floor, through obstacles and parts of the brick building and most of this with just one steel wire (the other one was cut off by Sam, using only a fire axe). When the thing comes flying out, it doesn't affect the helicopter at all (remember this is a huge safe, all most as big as the helicopter itself). The door of the safe was left open (which is now the floor) but still the two inside manages to stand/land on the ledges inside of it as it comes flying out of the building.
Lastly we have Sam (who survived and RPG shot right next to him) miraculously pulling up in a firetruck beside he's "friends" while in a speeding car chase.
When Sam drives the limo, Noel can see they are about the get hit with an RPG so she says "floor it" to Sam who says okay so they just barely gets hit by the RPG, now keep in mind, he's driving in a full speed car chase (straight a head btw), like why wouldn't he all ready be driving in full speed, they are trying to escape the bad guys, hello..
Seriously a 4 for this one is a disgracefully high rating from me. In all honesty, it probably don't deserve more than 2 at max, but I might be to hung up on stupid things and I also like John and Idris, so 4.
I would highly recommend to stay as far away from this one as you can tho. Not worth any of your time.

I am not a big Jude Law fan, but I am a really big Ana de Armas fan. And throw in Vanessa Kirby too, well it had a premise. My girlfriend and I were looking for a movie to watch, and this came up on a search for true stories. I went into this not expecting too much greatness, but I have to say I found it really interesting. Obviously it is an interpretation of what really happened, but the story was written using accounts from survivors of the island. It was acutally a good film, but it could have been great. The acting was all really good, with several big names. But it just needed that little extra 'hollywoodisation'. It was all a little flat. For me, if it hadn't been a true story written from actual accounts, I would have got a little bored. So if you like true stories, I recommend giving this one a go. If you are looking for more action, then this probably isn't the movie for you.

Thanks for this, lolSpeedz0r wrote:QUOTE (Speedz0r @ Nov 4 2025, 09:22 PM) Heads of State (2025) 4/10- Even with my brain turned off and only trying to enjoy the action for what the action was, I still really struggle with this movie. Well, to be honest, i've seen "Heads of state" 4 is a good note for this one.
Seems to be generous
Eden, i will watch, firstly, only because it is a Ron Howard movie. Not specially a fan of Jude Law, but....
So, the movie i recommend this week is "A House of Dynamite"
Reminds me, surely, of "Vantage Point"
Spoiler BlockThe fact that there is an open end, or no end at all, is something, today, very dared.
And that's what i loved. Plus the quality of actors...
Specially Fergusson...

I had that one on my list but your spoiler will probably make me remove it. I'm really having a hard time to keep my short movie list growing here.... lolripley wrote:QUOTE (ripley @ Nov 5 2025, 07:59 AM) So, the movie i recommend this week is "A House of Dynamite"
