another superb Addition to your exceptional collection Kernie.
As usual, Title Treatment, Colors, Tones and Characters are very well placed.

Wow Kernie, that artwork and title are gorgeous! I really like how you have introduced the green in the title. I enjoyed this show, and this cover fits it perfectly :D

Awesome work Kernie! Really like the rim lighting on this one.

I still need to watch this one but I've heard good things about it - excited to watch it.

Wow! As much as I'm amazed by the covers where you build beautiful designs out of tough limited materials, it's perhaps equally amazing when you're able to find ways to inject additional magic into already-great retail artwork. This could have been a relatively quick and easy addition to your series, but instead it's clear to see you went the extra mile in order to make something magnificent!

Good-looking cover, I like the layout , the TT and back logo look great, I don't think I've seen the back logo before, but I haven't watched Loki yet, so please no spoilers.

Anyhow great covers, thanks :)

Thanks for the compliments Tim, but I wish it was "quick and easy" with "already-great retail artwork." Unfortunately, resources across the board have been drying up and I'm forced to make due with the medium-res images that I can find with Google searches. The days of having access to high-res studio PNGs of characters are almost entirely long gone.

I know you meant nothing but praise in your comments, but I feel like a lot of the time and effort goes unnoticed by the majority of people who view my work. However, it did get me thinking about how rarely I post WIP materials anymore. Sadly, it's hard to find the time on a regular basis.

So, just to demonstrate just how much work actually goes into something that looks like it came together fairly easily... here we go! :D :D :D

Loki:
Cloned out logo and text from promo poster. Masked out character. Found image of prisoner in jumpsuit. Merged images together. Recolored, added lighting effects, and adjusted overall colors.

Mobius
Masked out character from promo poster. Merged with promotional character artwork. Recolored, added lighting effects, and adjusted overall colors.

Sylvie
Masked out character from poster. Merged with cosplay outfit. Recolored, added lighting effects, adjusted overall colors. Admittedly, her feet look a little too small in the final image, but you don't really see them in the final keyart. I was more focused on blending the cloak properly.

Ravonna Renslayer
Masked out character from poster. Merged with woman in pantsuit. Recolored... yadda yadda yadda. Added the rest of the pruning stick that was cut off from the original character poster.

Hunter B-15
Masked out character. Merged with Bucky's legs from promo character art (hey, whatever works, right?). Recolored.

Lastly, I redrew the clock elements from the various posters using Adobe Illustrator and sent the vector paths to 3D Invigorator in After Effects for the 3D effect. Added all of the colors, textures, etc. to the 3D clock in Photoshop and blended it into a gold, space/ethereal background. I also added a subtle spiral halftone pattern that is a common motif in the TVA headquarters.

And here's a better look at the full keyart...

I used a similar process on my recent WandaVision, Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Black Widow keyart as well. Most promo material these days is a character from the waist-up and/or with significant portions of the body obscured, so I'm often forced to create these sort of Frankenstein creations by merging together pieces from various images into something that looks like a complete body.

I hope everyone enjoyed this brief look into how I like to torture myself!
