I think you're on a really nice track here.

If you're looking for a method that might be easier to control, you could start from grayscale, then blend in the images, then add your color:

.. Something like this. Tried all method, but Used BD's method in the end. I think it blends much better this way.
Also adjusted the Background texture behind the paper to match the main pic. Opinions please?

working nicely bud, might I suggest trying the 2 characters, Foxx and Johnston ? a bit smaller so that Foxx doesn't obscure the mouth behind him.

I think that the paper is probably too red. Maybe something like this would look better?

Very nice bud, I think you should try making the names a size or 2 smaller and space them out a bit more in that space, so they fill the space a bit more.
Personally I would still make Foxx and Johnson a little smaller, just so Foxx's hat only comes up about half way over the guys chin.
