Kernie wrote:QUOTE (Kernie @ Sep 4 2019, 01:08 AM) I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not too upset that the Marvel/Netflix shows have ended. With the exception of Daredevil (and possibly The Punisher and a little bit of Defenders), these shows were a poorly-paced, drawn-out slog to sit through. Most seasons were 5 episodes of plot stretched to 13 episodes with tons of dialogue scenes that rehashed the same conversations over and over again.
I really liked the first seasons of Daredevil and JJ, but you're right that anything beyond that just dragged and dragged and dragged. I intend to watch everything at some point, but I just kinda got stuck post Defenders. I also hated that they kept rehashing The Hand over and over. It wasn't interesting in The Hand as villains to begin with, and by the time Defenders also dealt with them, I was so exhausted by it all.

But frankly, my biggest problem is that it's pretty much not considered MCU at this point. Especially with the Blade casting. At the height of the MCU, they kinda sold us on this big interconnected franchise through film, tie-in comics, regular TV shows, and Netflix shows, and it's been a big deception for me. Especially now that SHIELD's newest season no longer even fits in the MCU chronology anymore. And with Disney just kind of botching up Spidey as well, it feels like they're not even trying for continuity anymore.
Kernie wrote:QUOTE (Kernie @ Sep 4 2019, 01:08 AM) I had to make due with color-corrected publicity stills instead of the usual promotional imagery that tends to have much better studio lighting and contrast.

So here's what I can manage for the third and final season of Jessica Jones. If the cover seems a bit underwhelming, it's probably due to my indifference to this show by this point.

And yet, despite all this, you manage to deliver a superb quality cover once again. Thank you so much for your hard work, especially your hard work on products that you don't actually enjoy. Your sacrifice is appreciated!

I too really enjoyed JJ for the first season, not so much after that. Daredevil started strong, but was still going pretty good for me. Punisher, I was still really enjoying.

As for your cover, as joe said, you are far too hard on yourself. And you shouldn't feel the need to explain yourself either. I seriously doubt that there is a single member here that doesn't think every single one of your covers is amazing :)

I agree with you Kernie and what everyone else has said that I really enjoyed the first seasons, especially Daredevil but after it seemed like they found it hard to continue the story and just made do with what they could come up. I did still watch all the seasons though as it’s something that is easy to watch as you know the characters plus Rachael Taylor made it easier to watch JJ

Anyway, the cover looks great! As Baz said you’re being too harsh on yourself.

I agree, you're your own worst critique, the last in the JJ covers looks great, I would have been more disappointed if you hadn't of done a cover for it, so thank you for that at least, but like I said does look great, it has the series named character on the front what more does it need :)

I can't comment on the quality of this last series as I have still to watch it, over all on these netflix series I enjoys Daredevil the most, with Punisher a close second, started to get right into this, but then they cancelled. I didn't think much to Ironfist, Luck Cage started off ok but deteriorated in the second season, for that matter so did Jessica Jones in S2, and like I said I still have to watch S3

Really good work on the covers though, with what you have to work with I think you have done amazingly well, please keep it up :D

Thanks so much again :award: :award: :award:

Thank you, you made a wonderful cover despite the lack of resources.
I liked the first season of Jessica Jones, but after the kill of Killgrave, the creators simply had nothing to offer, at least for me.

Thanks for the kind words, joelazza, cas, Hearttlight, Bazzah, sauron, Darksaber, and merdec! I know that I'm being too hard on myself, but if I wasn't such a perfectionist, I wouldn't push myself to get any better (and you wouldn't enjoy the benefits of my never-quite-satisfied-with-myself custom covers)! :D :D

I'm also glad to know that I'm not the only one who quickly fell out of love with the Marvel/Netflix shows. It seems to be the general consensus that they went downhill pretty fast.

As for today's cover, here's yet another show that's ending with this season...

Aw Wow, brilliant, the keyart looks great, really well done

Haven't watched S3 yet, so I don't know how it ends

Anyhow thanks so much   :award: :award:

Not sure what covers are up next, I think you've finished with Marvel, but MIB is due, or you might be on to Archie Comics or Dark Horse, we'll see later :D

Thanks

Very nice work Kernie! I actually got bored of Legion after a couple of episodes so stopped watching it, didn’t find it as interesting as other shows.
