Wow great looking cover, the TT and back logo also look great

I have seen it, it's not too bad really, but I'm not complaining but I would of had the Robot guy up front with Cyborg in the background, switched around :D

Thanks again though, as I said great cover :award:

I know you're not complaining, but I'm going to defend my choices anyway... :D :D :D

There are a lot of times with my covers that logistical decisions must overshadow creative choices. I realize that Robotman is the more prominent character compared to Cyborg, but there were a few reasons why I had to arrange my cover this way...

1 - The resources that were available at the time of making this cover. Cyborg had a nice, hi-resolution character poster available that didn't obscure much of his body. The poster that was available for Robotman had other elements overlapping his body and would have required more hours than I was willing to spend to clone them out. I came across more images since designing this cover, so perhaps Robotman can take the center spot on a possible Season 2 cover.

2 - The quality of the images available. The image I ended up using for Robotman was a lower resolution than the one I used for Cyborg. I didn't want a pixelated character as the main focus of the keyart. The resolution/quality of the source image usually dictates how large I can make a character on a cover.

3 - I can't flip some of these characters. To simply switch Cyborg and Robotman would require flipping Cyborg horizontally to fit the arrangement of the characters. This can't happen because of his cybernetic eye. It always has to be on his left eye. Otherwise, I'd end up with a Nick Fury/Far From Home banner situation. I also have to be careful flipping Robotman because he has writing on his shirt.

4 - The poses of the characters sort of dictate their placement. If I were to put Robotman front and center, his pose would mean that his super-broad shoulders would start to limit the amount of space I would have for the remaining characters, getting in the way of Negative Man and Elasti-woman.

Contrary to how it might seem, I put a lot of time into figuring out the designs of these covers. Unfortunately, DC has been putting out less and less promotional material for their shows (even less of which are of high quality/resolution). Streaming shows are even worse (mainly promoted with low-resolution digital banners and social media ads). If I had a huge supply of high resolution source material to work with, I could probably make the cover I want to make, as opposed to the cover I have to make due to the lack of resources.

With how many of these damn shows are out right now, at some point, I just have to say "f--- it, it's good enough because I have twenty-five more shows to do this season." :D :D :D

Kernie's End-of-Summer Cover Extravaganza 2019 - #12: The Flash: Season 5
[Click image to view in gallery]

Uploading a little early today because I have a busy afternoon/evening. Here's The Flash: Season 5... not too thrilled with this cover, as the CW didn't release much promotional art for their shows this past season (outside of one main piece of keyart). I also hate the look of the new Flash suit, it looks really cheap and the other promo images for this season just made Grant Gustin look really awkward in the outfit.

The Flash: Season 5 Blu-ray Edition:
(10mm and 15mm spine sizes available)

The Flash: Season 5 DVD Edition:

Enjoy and see you tomorrow! :D :D :D

I understand your choices, and your quiet right to stand by them, so I concede lol :) I should have thought about my answer a bit more, and taken into consideration all the problems you have had or having creating these covers, I found it difficult finding a decent TT logo when the show first came out, just so I could make a dvd menu screen when burning the show to disc, let alone the other multitude of shows you have to find artwork for.

I think we've all taken you for granted over the years, and we, including myself tend to forget or don't even bother asking where you get all your artwork from. I'm sure some folk think it just magically falls into your lap(top), you must trawl the tinternet for hours these days looking for stuff, when in the early days, we had website for different resources, but since they all went "_it_ up " Clue: UU) it much harder.

I think, I'm sure I've wrote something like this in the past

Anyhow...
When someone says "f___ it" lol I know not to interfere and just be grateful you still find the time to make all this stuff (when I say stuff, i say that in the most humblest way possible), for us adoring fans :yourock:

Enough of all the grovelling

Note to self: "Must engage brain before typing in future" :ashamed:

Thanks so much again for everything :award:  :award:

I know it will be in next summer's extravaganza but are you already collecting images for Batwoman's tv series? That one looks to have the makings of a badass cover. Also, I think having Cyborg as the more prominent, irregardless of availability, was the right choice as it looked like they really pushed his story with his father as the season went along.

No need to apologize or grovel, DS... I wasn’t upset by your comments at all. Just thought I’d take the opportunity to explain some of the logistical issues I have to consider when creating a cover. :D :D

I also noticed a comment in the gallery that said something like, “Why he isn’t Mia Smoak on the Arrow: Season 7 cover? She’s more important than Bronze Tiger!” Well, because there weren’t any good promo images of Mia (that I found), but there were a few of Bronze Tiger from a few seasons ago that I could use. I also hadn’t watched most of the season when I made the keyart, so I had no idea who Mia was, but Arsenal and Bronze Tiger were in the earlier episodes, so I knew I could include them.

I think some people assume I’m somehow “connected” to these Hollywood studios or I have some special press access. Neither is true. I’m a dude with a Internet plan through my small town provider. As you surmised, I spend hours looking for good images to use. I’m so non-connected and unimportant that it’s actually kind of funny.

NEXT summer’s extravaganza?!?

Slow down, buddy! Let’s get through this year first! :D :D

Let’s just see if I’m still alive and making covers at this time next year!
