Where did you find such quality images from the 80s version? When I was looking around sometime back, I found nothing that looked that good...

Customaniacs.org had a bunch. I also found medium-res character shots by googling stuff from John Hom Studios, the illustration firm that handles many of WB's animated keyart and promotional imagery.Punisherchad wrote:QUOTE (Punisherchad @ Jun 30 2012, 09:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>These look amazing and not to be a total jack hole but you know they didn't cancel Thundercats right, it just wasn't listed in their upfronts because of production time, the same thing happened last year with the New Scooby Doo show everyone thought it was cancelled and it came back. They've made too much money on the toys to let a second season not happen.
Yes, Mr. Jackhole (), I am aware that Thundercats has not been officially cancelled, despite its complete omission at the WB upfronts. But the future doesn't seem bright from what I've been hearing, and the ratings were average at best (CN debuting it on Friday nights in the summer didn't help matters, nor did CN's typical sporadic scheduling of new episodes for practically all of their shows). Also, I think there's a big difference between Thundercats and Scooby-Doo, the former having a modest nostalgic following from a 30-year-old cartoon while the latter is a more recognizable and proven brand that has had various incarnations and movies since its debut in the late 60s.
Not sure where you got the idea that WB has "made too much money on the toys to let a second season not happen." From the rumors I've heard (and seen for myself), the toys have not been selling well... my local K-Mart has had shelves of the toys sitting there for months, pushed all the way to the back of the isle, barely moving, and most recently, they've been put on clearance. I'm talking the entire assortment of figures, both 4" and 6", the deluxe Armor of Omens figure, the Sword of Omens, and even the Thundertank... they've just been sitting there, not being purchased by anyone. Since the longevity of these cartoons is mainly determined by toy sales, I think this doesn't bode well for the second season of Thundercats. Maybe I'm wrong and the toys are flying off shelves elsewhere, or you know something I don't, but I think WB and CN just want to cut their losses and be rid of Thundercats for good.
I hope I'm wrong, I really do... because I think the new show has potential and it started to show more promise towards the end of the season (introducing classic characters like Pumyra, Vultaire (Vultureman), and Rataro, plus locations like Mount Plun-darr (which resembled Castle Plun-darr) and vehicles like the Feliner). I'd love to see a second season that hopefully incorporates Bengali and Lynx-O into the mix, and maybe even the Luna-taks, so I do hope it gets another shot at life. Unfortunately, WB and CN's lack of enthusiasm for the show (and the producers' frequent disregard for the original 80s series) make me pessimistic and until I see promos with new animation from Season 2, I'm going to keep my cover as "The Complete Series."
Sorry for the long rambling rant...![]()
Posted: Sun Jul 01, 2012 6:35 amI am a huge fan of the 80's series I have the complete series, it had cheesy moments but i loved every mintue of it. As for the new show i was really skeptic on it but imo it turned out to be amazing and will friedle as the voice of lino-o is really cool imo. Ive seen all 26 episodes and i found the show to be amazing. I truly hope they do a 2nd season cause i think it will be even better. as for the toy line, do action figures even sell anymore?,lol with all the game systems and handheld game systems do kids still wanna play with toys?,lol
Posted: Sun Jul 01, 2012 6:03 pmI wasn't thrilled with the colors of the 80s version that I previously posted, so I went back and tried to make things "pop" more. Also, big thanks to Jpeg, Hoofer, and Zantasha who helped with resources over at MovieGrafix.
I'm happier with this version. If there are no suggestions, I'll move on to the remaining volumes...![]()

Posted: Sun Jul 01, 2012 6:21 pmlooks fantastic, i personally prefer the previous TT from your other post, its a better fit imo.
Posted: Sun Jul 01, 2012 6:29 pmThat looks even better than the previous version, I think the only thing I would change is the cathead logo on the back, on the 2011 version both back and front logos are gold, but on the orig you have a black cat on the back a gold on the front
Personally I'd prefer if both were gold![]()
Oh I just realised why the cat is black!!! it black on the sword, forget my suggestion![]()
Posted: Sun Jul 01, 2012 7:10 pmUpdate...
Tried to compromise on the color of the TT... somewhere between silver and gold. Changed the cat insignia on the back to gold. I think it looks better this way, and stays closer to the 2011 version.
