The synopsis looks a little small.

Great job dude! The I love the front, nice job on the fog, and R2 looks awesome! :)

I tried the effect but i might need some help haha.

1) Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Levels

2) In the Levels box, under Input Levels, drag the black arrow to the right until you significantly darken the image. Under Output Levels, drag the white arrow to the left to darken some of the highlights. Hit OK when done.

3) In your Layers palette, make sure you have the layer mask thumbnail selected. Like so: [attachment=12724:Picture_3.jpg]

4) Select the Gradient tool from your toolbox and make sure it's set to Radial Gradient in the Options toolbar. Like so: [attachment=12725:Picture_4.jpg]
Make sure your foreground color is pure white and your background color is pure black. Either way, you want the black to be the center of your radial gradient.

5) Find the spot where you want to put the center of your radial gradient (I used a spot between the "T" and "A" in the word STAR of the title treatment). Create a gradient that goes from that center point to the top edge of your cover. You should now see the darkened Level Adjustment fade out towards the center. (You may want to go back in with a feathered brush and paint in some black over some characters' faces and other spots so that they don't get darkened too much).

I hope that all makes sense.

EDIT: If it doesn't make sense, here's a zipped PSD file you can check out: [attachment=12726:radialgr...mple.psd.zip]

As for the tagline, don't worry about it. Like I said, it's not really necessary... :(

I'm Still playing around with the levels Kernie and enjoying the results. And guys the synopsis shouldn't have to be seen from space, when you hold the cover actual size it is perfectly legible and does not seem small at all :giggle:

I am really going to need help creating a scene behind Luke because it will take more photoshop then I have done on all of my covers combined

Nice work on the front!! I'll leave you alone about the front now... :D :D

However, I must disagree with you about the size of the synopsis. What's the point size you are using? I usually try to keep my synopsis text between 9 and 11 pts. You might be able to read it when printed, but other folks who download your cover may not have the best eyesight.

Also, why do you have critic quotes below the synopsis in the same font and pt. size? Why not enlarge the synopsis pt. size so it fills in the space occupied by the critic quotes, then enlarge one of the quotes, put it in the same font as "Special Features" and have it run along the top of the back cover? It just seems unnecessary to lump the quotes in with the synopsis.

Not sure what you have planned with the Luke cutout on the back, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you're going to do with it!

I'm really liking where this is heading!! :D :D

Thinking that tagline and SFs would look better in a sans serif font.

Synopsis looks much better now. :D

Do you really need two critic quotes? Why not pick the one you like best and ditch the other one? As it is now, I don't really care for the weird gaps of dead space that the two quotes create. :(

And I disagree with JR, I think the Special Features text looked better with the original serif font you were using. It ties in to the font usage on "The Empire Strikes Back" on the front and spine. I know it's a custom, but the Star Wars saga, in general, has usually made use of serif fonts in the DVD packaging and marketing (especially in the prequels).

Oh... and can you flip Yoda so that he's not looking off the side of the back cover? A good rule of thumb to follow is to not have characters looking off the edge of the design (although on some occasions, it might work).

Keep only one and delete the other, it's too much for that space.

Forget the serif fonts for this. Keep the same font (most probably Trajan) like Andrew said. And as we know that Trajan only have capital letters, try something like Stanhope font for the synopsis. But keep Trajan for the quotes and taglines.

I tried the Stanhope font and it didn't work for the synopsis
I was wondering if I needed to add pictures?
