Great stuff Kernie, I have your JJ cover in black case, now I have to re-print, that's OK though.

Hi,
Kernie's work is fantastic, I love seeing it, just like the rest of you - it's stunning, count me as a big fan.
One thing I can't get my head around, though - and this isn't a criticism of Kernie - is why what I call 'character montages' are so popular, especially for front pages. What I mean by this is when you get lots of characters, in daft, unrelated poses, amalgamated together into one fake image. It seems pretty ubiquitous, not just here, so I'm obviously pretty much alone in disliking it.
It's just a personal preference so please don't attack me for having an opinion but I don't really understand the appeal of combining multiple images like this. Is it just me that thinks it generally makes the characters look dumb-a$$? The only time this works in my eyes is either for spoof movies - where dumb-a$$ is what you're aiming for - or comic-book stuff, which is maybe why I love Kernie's work, despite the montages.
Take the 'keyart' Kernie recently posted: do these look good with multiple characters and their silly, over-the-shoulder glances? Everyone seems to love them, though. Is it really just me that doesn't? Probably, I guess. Then maybe it's a good thing I like my images kept simple, it aligns with my simple level of talent!
Anyway, great work Kernie - no surprise to see it's so popular.

Yup, I think you are totally on your own here WeakySneasel. I also fail to see why you have chosen Kernies thread to highlight your dislike for these style of montages?
As you say, everyone has their opinion, and the world would be a boring place if we all agreed on everything. But please keep threads on topic.

Sorry, no offence was intended, I merely chose it because he makes something I'm not usually keen on, work so brilliantly well - it was intended as praise, albeit poorly aimed. Didn't mean to wander off topic. Zip!
