JR, I'm not usually one to make such suggestions, but have you thought about doing a 3-in-1 cover for the movies? You've got some great poses and really nice styling, but the image quality is holding you back. Creating a single cover with 3 strips would allow you to use the images at maybe half of their current size. That could shift the focus away from image quality and back toward highlighting your creativity. :)

Or maybe there's still hope that someone out there will unearth higher resolution shots somewhere? It continuously surprises me when such huge films have imperfect resources. Have you tried contacting any Superman fan sites? Perhaps someone has a collection of old press photos or lobby cards they can scan?

EDIT: Oops, I forgot that there was a fourth movie, plus Superman Returns. A 4-in-1 cover might still work really nicely for the Reeves movies. Or, maybe the second suggestion of contacting fan sites will be a good direction.

Thx Tim, you're not the first to suggest this - but as I wrote in the very first post, this is a set I'm doing per request. The guy I am doing this for want to cram his movies into double DVD cases, so my hands are tied by that. If I'm not burned out over this, when done designing his set however, I may do a Box cover.

Oh, I forgot - your idea to contact fan sites is sound - but the biggest one I have found 'CapedWonder', have already supplied me what they had of interest. I grabbed A LOT of images from there (but not all looked good fullsize and zoomed in) ;) :)

I'm very interested in the main TT, how you did it, where it came from, etc....

Actually I've switched all the different front TT to the one I used on #3 (minus the 'III' of course), as it is the most crisp of the lot.
I cut it out from a poster with the pen tool, Joe. Can't recall where I found the poster, or if it was handed to me by some of the beautiful friends who have been searching for artwork for me

Here's my start on the back. Only got the tagline and stills down at the mo.

My only concern with this one are the images you are using. Quality is okay, but you're using the wrong images from the movies. The cover for 1 has a still from 3, and the back stills on are from 1, 2, Returns, and something that looks like concept art. As a Superman fan, I would like to see more accurate images, but its your project...do as you wish :)

where do you see concept art????

if it is Krypton you're referring to, I made that image myself, and am happy with it. The starship is from '#1'

As for the stills, yes, the flying soops is from 2 still looking for a better one. Lex may be from another movie, but will do IMO. The Kent farm image may change IF I can find a good one of Clark's parents.
