Perhaps I didn't explain well enough, but I'll be doing a cover for each of the 7 seasons, keeping the main group (Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles) constant and swapping out characters as they pertain to each individual season. For instance, Buffys image will be the same across all 7 covers, but Angel (the guy by the moon) will be replaced with a different character (Spike) starting with Season 4, since Angel left for his own show at the end of Season 3.
I'll also be doing the color change each season like you demonstrated (and others had mentioned), along with the character-swapping. This will allow me to do each individual season without having irrelevant characters on the cover and sparing me the trouble of making 7 completely different keyarts.
Sysadmin did something similar with his Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles covers, he had one constant image but just changed the characters as they related to each season.
Make sense? Sound good?
