Agree about the green text

I think the green works fine, a darker color would be too heavy.

The synopsis feels too crammed up though, maybe have some more space in between lines or make it shorter?

Good point, the actors get enough love on the front that the synopsis mentions seem unnecessary.

Everything looks great except the legal/credits/logos color... i don't think the green color works there. I know you usually don't use black, but a darker color will probably work better. Just my 2 cents Timmo.
With all of the text flooding this thing, I was just trying to hide it as much as possible. :D Red felt too playful, too McDonald's. :) Green seemed like the lesser of two evils, but I'm willing to rethink the black/brown if you really think it's the way to go. It probably does look better, but I feel like it draws so much attention.

I was thinking the same as Felipe when looking thru this thread, and was about to suggest the same colour change before I saw his suggestion. Now, with the change done, you seem not too thrilled with it? I think you can make that area less prominent by making the black-ish text more grey (warm grey) That way it will not be as prominent as it is at the moment.

I really like the layout of the new design, but I somehow miss the "film noir" feeling on this cover which was indeed present on the previous one.

Anyway, somehow I believe you should try to change the green color to somewhat (earthy-)brown. Just wondering how it would look.

So nice to follow your progress Tim! Not only is your covers always top notch, so is your work-in-progress threads :)

I have some minor suggestions. Did I say this looks smashing as is?

How would it look if the text on DeVito was placed in the bottom of the box, as the rest?

How would it look if you placed two quotes in on the empty areas on Crowe and Pearce? Maybe not quotes, some subtle background imagery?

I understand it's hard to do something about the text-heavy back. But... :) How would it look if you changed the color for the special features block? A contrasting color would perhaps help out in separating the text a little so it's just not a big block of yellow-ish?

Amazing in it's subtile beauty.

That was meant as a little joke to show how short he is. :D

So, since there were a couple of bits people (including myself) weren't happy with, I ended up making some pretty drastic changes to fix some of the built-in color issues and attempt to return more of the "noir" weyn mentioned got diminished along the way. Here's my slightly updated version, followed by my beaten to a pulp version. :)

Any thoughts or final rulings are always appreciated. :) Looking at it, I'll try the brown bits in red or gold tomorrow, just in case.

I just wet myself seeing the green version! :D

EXCELLENTE AMIGO! :thumb:

Only one minor thing would be to drop the synopsis colour a little on the green version. Seems just a tad too white IMO.

BIG improvement! Love the green.
