I know you said you're finished... but it'd be nice to see R2-D2 beside C3-PO. They're usually not far apart...

Thanks for the suggestion :jump: , I thought about that but that would crowd both sides with no breathing room if you know what I mean, and they aren't really together in this movie

Stop being so lazy!! :D :D :P :P

Maybe it's just me, but I usually only pull the "breathing room" excuse on projects that I just don't feel like working on anymore. You know damn well it looks weird with 3 characters on one side and only two on the other! :D :D

You need someone between Chewie and C3PO to provide some balance and maintain the symmetrical layout you've got going. Slide 3PO next to Chewie and put R2D2 on the far right. Who cares if they're not together that much in this film?

Have you tried making the characters get bigger as they get closer to Luke? There's a lot of dead space above the character's heads and by having a more drastic change in scale as they get closer to Luke might help to solve that. :D

----

By the way... you know I'm just teasing about the laziness stuff, right? I'm just trying to get the best work out of you, because in all honesty, this cover has come a LONG way since your first post and I think it has the potential to become one of the best Star Wars sets on this site (and many other sites, as well). I know you want to finish up the front and move on, but seriously, spend a bit more time on it and go those extra miles. It will definitely be worth it in the long run and you'll learn a lot more by doing it, as well!!

Keep up the fantastic work!! I'm really impressed with what you've done so far (as if it really matters what I think!).

Okay I fixed the "V" thing with the characters and added in R2, added some fog to the spine and yes it looks a lot better! Thanks for the compliment Kernie it means a lot to potentially have one of the best sets!

How about moving the film titles on the spines down and somehow having the starwars logo spanning the set? Just a quick idea.

Very nice! Glad to see you tinkered with it a bit more! It makes a world of difference. And I meant every word about this having the potential to be one of the best Star Wars sets around! :D :D

One last nit-pick before I'll leave you alone about the front...

Try darkening the edges of your design by putting a level adjustment layer over your whole cover with a radial gradient mask on top of it. I do this on practically all of my designs and the gradual dark-to-light helps the eye move towards a specific focal point. I hope you don't mind, but I posted a small preview below of how this ends up looking:

If you decide to take this suggestion and are unsure about how to do it, PM me and I'll be glad to provide a brief tutorial.

If not, it's still a sweet looking cover! I can't wait to see all 6 movies!!

P.S. Sorry... one last thing... have you thought about a tagline or some sort of text above Luke's head? It's not absolutely necessary, it just seems a bit empty up there... :chin:

Could work but if you decide to add a tagline you need to add some more space between Luke's head and the top edge 'cause right now you don't have enough space to add a tagline there.

@Clint: a spanning spine set is no longer used! :D and i don't think it'd work here.

NO SPANNING SET PLEASE. I tried the effect but i might need some help haha. I would put a tagline its just that there aren't a lot of taglines for each movie, i might have to have a sight brainstorm. On the back i plan to create a scene behind luke either in the carbonation chamber or dagobah
