I also thought the front only idea worked really well, it was alot tougher than doing a whole cover due to each individual artist
had to be more creative to make that image pop. However when i first seen what the contest was going to be i couldn't help but
think that it would have probably even more interesting if it was a case of designing a poster instead at 3000 x 2000 pixels.

Results could have more interesting when a coversite like hires could have incorporated it into another comp with option of just using the BR entry posterarts instead.

I totally agree and a really good idea with a poster, it could be fun

I would prefer Full covers next year. I think it benefits the cover sites more as well. I mean, honestly, how many people do you think will actually finish and upload their BR covers this year? Last year, after the BR ended, I saw tons of uploads for the Argo covers, and a few Titanic covers too. Just my two cents, anyhoo. :)

I agree with full covers for next year. Strangely I think it would make it easier for the judges too :)

I also think one judge from each site, with perhaps 3 impartial judges. Public voting towards the results is a big no no! As we find here, most public votes are cast from just seeing previews without examining the work closely. That can lead to unfair results.

Joe, I can only speak for myself, but I had no idea whose cover was whose. I thought I had guessed a few, but it turned out I was totally wrong! But maybe from that perspective there should just be a select handful of judges who are not biased towards any site? I know I would never score my own designers higher (if I had managed to figure out which covers were theirs) but it is understandable that people will always presume I would.

Tim, please don't think I am complaining at all about the BR! It is a fantastic competition and you do an amazing job running it! It is a lot of hard work you put into it each year. I am just sharing my opinion on how a fantastic competition could be even better :)

I think fewer judges would be best. The judges should be a combination of past winners and current designers.

And to make it fun and mysterious, maybe invite a known proffesionel to help as a yearly guest judge, without revling the name until after comp. end..
