Personally I like those headshots, they work really well for the feel of the cover IMHO.

I love how the villians break the frame, they're baddies and should be breaking the rules :) Also it helps give the back a bit more of a roomy feel, even though it's something small it adds something greater I think, guess a picture can speak a thousand words.

As to your other thought of Obadiah Stane or Iron Monger, my vote goes to Stane, he's got THAT look, you know, and that frees up Destroyer :)

On a side note, I just reserved my tickets to see a matinee of The Avengers on May 5th

MAY 5TH!? That's ONE WHOLE DAY after opening day! I can't wait that much :D Are you seeing it in IMAX 3D?

I'm also excited about this for the same reason, this is really the first time in cinematic history that we're getting this sort of thing. After building up and teasing for 5 movies, we finally get a crossover movie! It's pretty damn exciting!

I'm glad you like the latest updates, NR!! :D :D :D

Here's another update... something a little more substantial this time!! :D

- Added the Destroyer (a HUGE thanks again to Darksaber for cutting him out for me... saved me a ton of time and the maquette fits in perfectly!! :notworthy: )
- Added some "heat blast" effect to the Destroyer's eyes.
- Left some room for Obadiah Stane to go between Red Skull and Destroyer.
- Added Nick Fury to the headshots, placed a small SHIELD logo above Captain America's headshot
- Added a critic quote from Captain America that I felt would sum up the whole Marvel Universe franchise.
- Added a synopsis... the first paragraph is the prologue from the Avengers comics in the 1970s, the second paragraph I wrote myself to give an overview of the whole collection.
- Started reworking the legals.
- Reorganized the titles on the front cover to reflect the films' chronological release order. I originally had it in the order of the film's timeline, since Favreau said in the IM2 commentary that Incredible Hulk takes place after IM2 (as evidence by the Hulk footage on the SHIELD screens at the end of IM2). But then, that wasn't correct either because if I was going in proper chronological order, the majority of Captain America takes place a good 60-70 years before the events of the first Iron Man. Oh no... I've gone cross-eyed thinking about it. Anyway, back to film-release chronological order... :P

I think that's all the updates for now... back to work on other things... :D :D

I know, it's going to be tough waiting a whole day to see it, but the fiancé and I are making a day of it (grabbing some lunch first and then seeing the film). She's gracefully endured all of the other Marvel films with me, but admits that even she's excited for Avengers, since it has Robert Downey Jr. and is directed by Joss Whedon (we're both big Buffy/Angel fans).

But no, we're not doing IMAX 3D. I can't stand 3D and I only saw one film in IMAX (Batman Begins) and I almost felt the screen was so large that I couldn't really take it all in. I felt like a 5-year-old who sits with his nose pressed against the TV screen while watching Saturday morning cartoons.

Nevertheless, I'm so pumped for this! :D :D :D

Destroyer looks great (I was hoping you would put the heat blast effect in his eyes), and I even thought about cutting him out for you but I didn't have time today. I'm a fan of Iron Monger so I'm sad I won't see him in there but maybe he could still work?

However Jeff bridges was great as Obadiah Stan and it would be nice to see a villain that wasn't visually altered - a human that's evil and can stand up to a superhuman without being different - ala Lex Luthor. Hey, and they are both bald :-P

Darksaber... that's AWESOME SAUCE!! Thank you so much for taking the time to extract that Destroyer maquette!!! :D :D :D It's going to look great in the villain line-up!

Your very welcome, just nice to give back a little for what you have given to us :)

The Destroyer does fit in really well with the layout :) thought you would add a bit of fire to the eyes :)

Liking the head shots now I can see what you have done with the synopsis, which reads really well I lke it a lot :)

I was going to suggest the layout of the titles of the front a while ago, but thought better of it at the time, I'm glad you have changed it, it look more symmetrical now, plus being in release order

Oh just ask if you would like Obadiah cutting out, I hope I was talking about the right image you thinking of using :)

Just say yay or nay :)
