just a quick thought on Whiplash, since you have trouble with the whips. Perhaps you're using the wrong pic of him? Aren't there any screens out there of him hammering Stark on the Race Tracks? Could be an image of him in another pose, more suitable for the villains collage?

If it's not too late to the game, how about swapping whiplash and red skull? The latter doesn't have much going on with his pose so doesn't need a great deal of space, while it's evident that you're having difficulty fitting in whiplash. Putting him where red skull is would allow you to comfortably get one of his whips in there.
Obviously, I'm not sure how the source images are - i.e whether you have the full bodies to work with - or indeed your reasoning for the current placement on the back, but I thought I'd offer it as a suggestion.

If you knew what Jpeg and I had to go through to get that image of Whiplash without a background, you'd understand my reluctance to use another pic. Unless there is something out there that I've never seen, I can't think of any *easily-extractable* images of Whiplash from the race track scene that would work better. Besides, I do kind of like this Whiplash image and would like to keep it.jwshaw89 wrote:QUOTE (jwshaw89 @ Apr 21 2012, 01:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>If it's not too late to the game, how about swapping whiplash and red skull? I kind of like Red Skull where he is at. Plus, the fact that he doesn't have much going on with his pose makes it easier to put someone to the right of him. If I were to switch them, Whiplash's arm is extended out at an angle, with his whip coming off his wrist, and I think it would block whoever I put to the right of him.
In all honesty, I really don't care if we see Whiplash's whips, but since there's a lot of dead space around his legs and Loki's cape, I'd like to fit something in there to break up all that darkness. The most obvious solution would be to work his whip in there somehow.
Just like the front, this back collage is like a rubix cube where one change could inadvertently affect several other elements.![]()
I agree with JR regarding Whiplash... BUT just using google to search, there doesn't seem to be any full bodied images of him on the racetrack let alone any in hi res, whether there are any available I'm not sure, checked the usual sites but can find anything
limited resources
there is an image of Obidiah on here that Kernie actually uploaded, that would probably work the one with Rhodey, Pepper Tony and Obidiah standing together.
The only images of the Destroyer I found of a decent size where of a maquette which doesn't look too bad and think you could get away with, but they needs a hell of a lot of work cutting out, which I would be willing to do
Destroyer Image 1
Destroyer Image 2
Couldn't find much at all for the frost giants

I only mentioned the race track scene coz that's how I remember whiplash. Anyway, kernie already made a choice.

Just as a heads-up, you might want to get the back legals all set before moving too far forward with the rest of your back design. With a set, they can take up significantly more or significantly less space than on a single cover, depending on what you choose to include. Including all six billing blocks will take up 75% of the back at least, whereas the other choice of zero billing blocks will open up even more design room for you to figure out how to fill.
On the set for The Godfather, for example, they only have the studio logo, the rating, and a little copyright info:

On the DVD set for The Naked Gun, they go in the complete opposite direction:
http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_item.asp?item_id=1607033&tab=5&back=1&anchor=1#topoftabs
The Mission: Impossible trilogy would probably be my favorite direction, including rating reasons and disc specs while still leaving plenty of design room:
http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_item.asp?item_id=1589640&tab=5&back=1&anchor=1#topoftabs
My point being, it's a different beast than a single-movie back, and I know it can be frustrating to leave the credit area for last only to realize that you're going to have to go back and re-size or re-position your design after trying to make everything pixel-perfect.

@ Darksaber... thanks for the Destroyer pics. I actually found them a few days ago and thought they would work well, which is why I suggested Destroyer for the collage. I would LOVE some help cutting out "Destroyer Image 2," but don't feel obligated.
@ Bunny Dojo... thanks for the examples, you're right about considering the multi-movie legal section. I agree that the Mission: Impossible trilogy layout would work best, but I think I'll modify what I already have, ditch the credit block entirely and figure out a space-saving way to include specs for all the films in the set.
Any thoughts on the headshots on the right side? No one has mentioned them...?

Darksaber... that's AWESOME SAUCE!! Thank you so much for taking the time to extract that Destroyer maquette!!!
It's going to look great in the villain line-up!
And here's a detail of the headshots...
