I've just spotted this on DvdEmpire and Amazon.com

Released 11th February

And just wondering if it's the same as this (re-release)

It looks to be a single disc abbreviated version of the previous Filmation set. Kind of like those other "compilation" DVDs they do for Batman TAS and others.

I don't plan to cover it, since the episodes are probably already contained on the more complete previous set. But thanks for the heads-up!

I've been looking at the episodes, and this new Vol 1 release is disc 1 of the previous release, so I assume, if they release a second volume, that will be disc 2.

DC/Warner Bros. = Cash Cows!! lol

Instead of doing all of these "volume/compilation" re-releases, I wish they would focus more energy on releasing things like the second half of Static Shock, Zeta Project, or any of the other shows that they started releasing and then stopped.

OR, better yet...

Blu-ray releases for Justice League Unlimited, Thundercats 2011, or other shows that were originally mastered in HD.

I totally agree, I would prefer the release of second half of Static Shock and Zeta Project to these late 60's cartoons, once you've watched them, you kind of don't want to watch them again lol

I wish Marvel and DC would stop releasing stuff in like 4 or 5 volumes. I'm getting to the point where i dont want to buy these shows cause it's too much money for nothing. Thundercats 2011 was like 3 or 4 volumes at $15 to $19 each, same with Green Lantern, Ultimate Spider-Man, Turtles, etc

i wish it would be simpler like. the 90's Iron Man and Fantastic 4 sereis, or the 60's spider-man, this cash cow volume crap dirves me nuts :Pulling hair:

I picked it up at Target last week and it's not too bad, actually. In fact, it was surprisingly good for what it was.

It's definitely aimed at kids, but not so childish that it cannot be enjoyed by older viewers as well. Glad to see that it's getting a wider release, but I almost hope that it doesn't get a Blu-ray release, because I will be compelled to double-dip (Target only offers DVD). Not sure if it's worth buying twice. I doubt I'll watch it frequently, but it was a nice throw-back to the old Super Friends cartoons while updating it for modern audiences.
