I'm sure you and the rest of the judges have done your absolutely best, as we designers have. Every one stebs up in BR it seems! For my part it can only be better than last year :whistle:

I agree, it was a tough choice and I did a fair share of reorganization between first impressions and more careful scrutiny of each cover. It was easier to rank those at the top and those at the bottom... the ones in the middle were tricky. No offense to the designers, but there were some covers that were noticeably weaker than others. On the flipside, there were some covers that had just a bit more creativity and craftsmanship than others. Deciding how to appropriately rank the "great but not spectacular" and the "good but not great" covers was personally the most difficult part of judging.

Ultimately, I stand by my final decisions. When the winner is announced and the scorecards are released, I will have no problem revealing which is mine. Should anyone have any questions or disputes, I will be happy to address those concerns, either via PM or publicly in the forum.

I've sent in my Score card. I think, apart from what Kernie wrote, another tricky part for me personally, was having two films, with completely different themes/genres. It was hard for me to decide where to place the very best cover for movie A among the 3-4-5 best covers for movie B.

All in all I think I saw some very original, well layouted, and executed cover fronts. Some were better than others, some were very very close. As was what could be expected.
Like K said, I'm willing to lay open my score card if Tim chooses to publice the Judges' scores, but I won't mind if he doesn't. If a designer wants some explanation, I'm willing to elaborate.
In the end I did my utmost to be fair to all, not thinking about who made what at all. That's unimportant to me while judging. I have judged on idea, execution, image handling, typography, resolution of images used, and relevance to the movie, and have stayed away from the threads where some ppl have voiced their ooh's and aah's.

Since I finally have submitted my Score card, I will now voice my own Ooh:

Well done to all designers, hope You've had far more fun designing these fronts, than I had while judging them all. Ranking 24 entries is tough!!! :yikes:
