As Manwe said, try turning the brightness and contrast up to maximum on your monitor. The problem with black levels being wrong like these, is printers will pick it up really bad, so the printed result will look terrible. Thanks for listening to the guys ;)

I would like to thank everyone for their kind compliments and really constructive tips. Thanks for spending the time to share your expertise. I'm always trying to learn and improve my photoshop skills when I can find the time. :)
