Great start, Magnus!
Perhaps you could adjust the contrast abit, to give it a little more umph? I partically noticed the sort of faded look of the tower on the front. Upping the contrast could help to make things stand out a bit (in a god way, lol)

Apart from the obvious I've increased the contrast and given M. Gustave's shirt some wrinkles and a subtle texture. Still more work to be done on the shadowing on the back etc. Plan to add some photographs and of course a synopsis + SF's somewhere.

Thanks Sauron
So, after several hours of "baking" I think I've managed to create something similar to the cakes seen in the movie. Placed the half eaten cake on a plate and fitted both the plate and fork with the GB logo.

The creativity you've put into this is awesome Magnus!
The only thing that bothers me is that gift-card(?) in the top left corner. Because of it's very big drop shadow it's looking to me as somebody outside the picture is holding it above all other elements of your back. It's looking like the card has a much more higher position.
If you finish this one in time I'm very curious to see this month's voting between some outstanding covers!
