Alfred Hitchcock's Rebecca
I'm sorry I've been absent for a bit and missed this WIP. Amazing work yet again, with so much subtle detail that I'm sure I'm overlooking at preview size.
There's no other designer that can match your ability to make something so elegant and beautiful from such a simple image... or your talent for taking an old image and making it look so fresh and new.
Incredible work, buddy!

Incredible work, buddy!

I'd thought I'd condense how great I think this is by just saying that your latest update got the great samppa to post.
I think the character on the front needs one more pass of lighting to match the lighting on the stairs? Maybe adding more rim light to her (and wispy hairs) and shadows in her center?

Wow, thank you for such an enthusiastic response, everyone! It makes the amount of time spent on this design feel slightly less insane.

I did add quite a bit more light coming in through the windows, so it makes sense to even further enhance the lighting on Joan Fontaine, and what you did in that preview looks promising.![]()
Here's some progress on the back. The rest of the checklist is to add a stills bar, sneak a Special Features listing on the left side in the shadow of the mountain, and maybe colorize one more shot for the spine. It's progressing slowly but surely.
Back photo before and after: (After looking at this, I've already gone back and toned down the greenery a little bit)

And the whole cover so far:
