Like this...?

IMO, the Master is necessary. Looks empty without him. Plus, he'll change to the other "big bads" for each season. I like the idea of the season's "main villain" kind of looming over everything...You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Wanna challenge you to do a similar work for the Harry Potter films!
Would be a pleasure to have covers for the movies done by you following this style!
Thanks Ark! My affection for the Potter films has grown since your last request, but I'm still not ready to tackle those films yet. Maybe, in time...
Thing is, I generally like to do covers for movies/tv that don't already have a lot to choose from in our gallery (with the exception of the titles in my Comic Book Collection). I mean, does our gallery really need ANOTHER cover for Avatar or The Dark Knight? We're pretty well stocked in that department. There's plenty of great Potter stuff already in the gallery already, don't know how much of a need there is for me to make covers for them...RRJR84 wrote:QUOTE (RRJR84 @ Aug 5 2011, 12:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I love it with the master, and i like the new additions as ell as the border. Maybe movie Joyce over to the other side to fill it in more as you said and make her bigger can't think of anyone else for season 1 at the moment.
I think I'm locked to everything the way it is now, with the exception of filling in the right area. No need to move Joyce around just yet, but if I have trouble filling that space with other stuff, I might do that. I'm trying to keep her small because she wasn't that important of a character, and for that matter, neither was Dawn (aside from Season 5). We'll see how this whole thing shakes out when I add more characters to the right...
Thanks for the comments, guys! I really really appreciate your interest!![]()

Thanks for the list, batboy!
S1 is going to be tough... I might have to take RRJR's suggestion of moving Joyce next to Giles and replacing her spot on the left with a random S1 demon (like Luke or someone).
I think S1 will be the hardest keyart, because of the lack of pivotal recurring characters (I mean, it's not like Principal Flutie or Hank Summer really need to be on the cover).

RRJR was right... Joyce works better on the right side (and will help to put Dawn closer to the core group for S5). Thanks for the suggestion, sorry I'm so stubborn to not have realized it right away!

Agreed, it does work better. Good call RRJR.
How about Jenny Calendar for a Seasons 1 and 2 (maybe even 3) character.
For those reading this Thread who are not familiar with or forgotten some of the supporting characters from the first couple of seasons, Jenny Calendar was the high school computer teacher and member of the gypsy tribe (Janna Kalderash) who cursed Angel by giving him a soul. She becomes the love interest of Giles and any more info would be a spoiler.Last edited by batboysmatboy on Fri Aug 05, 2011 9:22 pm, edited 1 time in total.

So, most importantly, this looks great so far.
Regarding how to handle the fronts with the assumption that a single 40-disc case isn't feasible...
As much as I like how this design is shaping up, I'm not sure even the most amazing of designs can captivate while being duplicated 7 times with only a background color change.
If you're going to go for seasons, maybe keep the framing device you've built up but use single characters instead for seasons 2+?
Depending on what size you've been building at, maybe you can enlarge and separate things out a little bit to cover 3-4 panels, along the lines of the idea of those character posters for The Avengers that you linked to previously? You'd need a little more expansion, but it wouldn't be too huge of an undertaking, at least by Kernie standards.
Or, still in the mind of creating 3-4 large cases, you could do a couple more builds using what you've created so far plus a couple more characters (and a couple more Sarah Michelle Gellar cutouts). So, maybe Seasons 1 2 & 3, Seasons 4 & 5, and Seasons 6 & 7. Obviously, that increases your workload quite a bit, but it's still not as bad as doing a full 7 compositions and it gives you a little more room as to who you can include if there are one or two seasons with less characters or less resources.
The other idea that comes to mind is to "gray out" the characters who aren't applicable to a particular season. So, Buffy, the guy, Lily and 2-5 others are in color on each cover and the inactive people could be bathed in the background color. That way, you wouldn't be using the exact same design 7 times, but you also wouldn't be burdened with the endless amount of work most other options force upon you? So, something like this:

Then again, the more that I look at it and think about it, maybe just changing the background color is all you need.
That's just a few ideas.
You're far more experienced with sets than myself or anyone else here, so I'm sure whatever you decide will be both visually fantastic and vastly crowd-pleasing.
