Is there any way that the anti-Facebook people, like myself, are able to participate in this poll? There's no way, even on the coldest day in Hell, that I'll be signing up for a Facebook page, so does that mean I'm ineligible?

I have to say I agree fully with this. That there should be another option for those that do not do facebook, For me it's not an issue as I FINALLY relented just a few months ago and got facebook, and only cause my kids do so much on it that I can keep up with them and endless texting was starting to drive me nuts LOL, though we still do a fair bit of that!
I am a bit anti to social networking and just refused for such a long time to do it so therefore I fully understand the people that do not want it and hope we do have a solution for the next time round :)
cheers

for the facebook problem, i've just create a page with absolute no link with me except covers, that could be a solution...
i've create this page sometimes ago and use it for the first time for the battle royale... you should try (to peolple that are anti social network, as i also do)...

but for sure, something else should be found for voting, the easier would be to use the dedicated voting system of HiRes, everybory is additected to it, i guess...

Anyway, great comp, full of amazing work, not able toguess who done what i wait for the final result !!!

Another way around it (in addition to what Skar said) is just to create a completely private page. You don't have to enter any personal info besides the email address you sign up with, and you don't need a photo. You can set it so only 'friends of friends' may send you a request, and only 'friends' can see your info. That way, if you don't add any friends, nobody can see anything on your profile. I think there are even settings that allow only yourself to view your info.
It probably takes a couple of minutes to set up, and would allow you to simply cast your vote and remain private. I think a few voters have done so, actually.

I agree, but it's meant as a neutral contest, so directing everyone to HiRes probably wouldn't sit well with some of the site owners. :D

The difficulty is making sure votes can be tracked, people can only vote once, and people are who they say they are. I'll start a thread next week to consider ideas, as I'd really like to find a way for everyone to get involved.

Can you do the poll at a neutral location, like on MRCovers.com? Do you have the capability for that, or are you trying to avoid the site getting hacked again?

Plus the problem with facebook voting, is anyone can go on and like any image. So if we are holding a fan vote, the numbers wouldn't accurately reflect the cover site population.

I have a few ideas for it, but I will save them for the new thread next week!

As someone who has finished both toward the top and at the very bottom in competitions, I want to thank all of our designers for stepping up to the plate. They represented their sites well and should be proud. I know every cover will receive well-earned accolades as participants upload the vastly impressive full-size designs to their home sites.

Similarly, I want to thank our judges. Each used their own method in deciding the ranks, from carefully examining and shuffling printouts to writing detailed paragraphs about the designs' strong points. We'll all have a few favorites that finished toward the bottom of the scoring, but I think the judges did a very admirable job in a tough field.

Unfortunately, we can only have one champion.

Your Cover Site Battle Royal 2 Champion is...

...going to be announced in 1 hour.
