I have a question kernie. Do you want to tamp statistics replies to this topic or finish this cover? Because that was my impression after your post with regret that no one you almost nothing written since the last update?

It seems to me that you know exactly how to complete this cover, and the response... wowww , great set, beautiful, etc. are not needed in the WIP, I think it's better to get constructive criticism or suggestion than excited by the amount of posts on the topic.

sorry m8, I have no suggestions, the latest update is not bad and I'm waiting until you finish this set. Do not print it because I prefer to have the Polish version of the cover, and you're still not doing such. BTW, great cover.

First off, thanks everyone for your comments. It's good to know that there is still interest in this cover and your kind words have given me newfound motivation to keep working on it.

@ Skar... please don't feel like there is nothing you can contribute to my WIPs. I appreciate any feedback, especially constructive criticism. There is always more to learn and I try to incorporate feedback from wherever I might be able to find it.

How come every time I just need a little boost of support, someone has to be negative and suggest that I'm only crying out for attention?

I'm not trying to see how many replies or posts I can get, I'm trying to get excited about my own work, which has been difficult for me with this cover recently. Knowing there are people out there who would still like to use this cover gives me the ambition to finish it. In fact, the support people have shown has renewed my interest in this cover and I'm working on it as we speak.

And I'm NOT looking for only compliments, if somebody has a suggestion to help this cover, I'm all for it. Believe it or not, even us Master Designers like to get constructive criticism that might help to improve our work. If you think it's better to get constructive criticism or suggestions, then by all means... please provide me with some, instead of accusing me of seeking attention or seeing how many posts I can get.

Sometimes, I might just need a little pat on the back and encouragement to keep working. What I DON'T need is people kicking me while I'm trying to get back up on my feet.

I bet many would appreciate comments from you in their WIP's too, Kernie. I understand you've been busy the last months, but you've been around every once in a while updating your collection and now for about a week working on this cover (and a comp cover I suspect... ;) ). Can't recall seeing a comment from you. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My point is that I personally tend to comment more often in threads from people I see commenting and contributing in other threads, including my own. This is a community and it's the comments, suggestions and feedback that keep this site rolling and designers evolving. No one would bother starting WIP's and uploading anything if no one took the time to comment.

Agreed, and you are absolutely right, I haven't had much time lately to comment in others' threads. I will try to do more of that.

However, I should note that I do try to stay out of others' threads as much as possible. Mainly because I feel people will resent my input, almost as though I'm trying to tell them how to design their cover. I often fear that my suggestions are interpreted as demands, so I try to limit how often I chime in and let the designers find their own path. That probably doesn't make much sense, and as usual, I expect nobody to understand my thoughts... :(

Cool! Now show an update! :D

Edit: Can't speak for others, but I appreciate every comment in my WIP's whether it's constructive criticism/suggestions from "old" MD's like yourself or feedback from non-designers/subscribers on this site.

You've got to finish this one off, you're one of the most talented designers on this site!! Seeing how everyone reacts to your work is amazing, I wish I could get reactions like that when I used to make covers. I'm sure A LOT of people will be using this cover.

Update...

Again, thank you to all for showing your enthusiasm and support, it has helped me buckle down and push through my creative block on this cover...

Any suggestions, changes, revisions? Don't be afraid to speak up, please. I'd like to get this one off my plate for the new year, so if you see anything that you would like changed, speak now or forever hold your peace. :D

ok, i'll start up, so after looking the preview for 10mn, i guess i'll rest in peace, ooops, i'll hold my peace...
for my own i see nothing wrong with this one, colors, fonts, position of pics, even on the spine and the fact that we see a bit of the front picture is nice...

next commenter will may be more constructive!!

I like the characters on the back, but think you should boost the contrast/levels some on everyone except Bale. Might be just the preview, but the three guys look a bit greyish compared to Bale. Other than that I have no suggestions :)
