Here is the result of using Jolly's beautiful cover for Superman The Movie. I have also added a nice Alex Ross inlay as the icing on the cake. :-)

Nice! Damn, I wish more could do this. Take pictures of the printed covers and post in the forum, I mean.

Sorry to backtrack to your first Superman cover but I just noticed this topic. Visually the only thing I could suggest is to make superman appear more ingrained on the front. To me it looks too apparent that it is a separate image pasted on top. I think the edges need some manual blurring, at least in parts, so it does not look as cut out. Also I'd have to see it to know whether it would work or just look cheesy, but a VERY slight "motion blur" might add alot. I don't mean the gimmicky motion blur filters that blur and shift the principle image, I mean giving the air just behind him the slight appearance of disturbance. Think Neo about to take off in the Matrix.

Finally I'm guessing you wrote the synopsis yourself? I'm sorry but the English major in me can't take it. There are some grammatical mistakes but that's not the problem. The whole thing is just.... awkward. It also doesn't read like a newspaper article would. Some of the word choices also do not really make sense in the context used, "ie: sabotage, eliminate." I think the whole thing needs to be tweaked.

Other than these issues I give the cover two thumbs up.

Well, perhaps I'll go back and take another look if you could pm me your corrections of the synopsis. It's a rewrite of the official one. The news paper's headline is the one from the movie.

Anyway, I got the juices flowing again by opening up my soops III psd - so here's an update on that one:

Found this old worn and discolored alternative film poster for Superman III, and thought - hey I'll fix that!

Hope you like my effort. :)

You don't sound overly fond of it? I just think the other more known theatrical poster has been overused on customs... (look below, I am sure you are familiar with it) and I thought restoring the alternate old poster to life gave this cover something unique...

I like this era's way of writing the credit block. Could be used for something... :chin: :)
