I actually liked the crack before, without any sparks, but thought it just needed some darker shading on the inside parts

perhaps make more cracks; small cracks in somewhat horisontal lines, making the earth literally break apart?

Oh, and I'm sure you'll get it right before calling this done. So I don't mind the sparks so much - but they need to come from the cracks, if you know what I mean? (The sparks being lava shooting out of the ground)
