Here's an update... the back is coming together much better. I'm really liking the vertical layout... a different change of pace from what I'm used to doing.

I still need to work out the "character collage" in the blue sidebar, should I make it season-specific, using images of the characters from that particular season (MORE work for me), or a system similar to the front, where it changes only when a character is not present in the current season (LESS work for me).

I also think I will fill the space under the "Special Features" with an Episode List.

Thanks for everyone who's been chiming in on this thread so far, it's really helping!! :D :D :D I truly appreciate the feedback!

Thinking that you should place the Episodes list above the Special Features. Seems logical as the episodes would be what you will watch first.

Looks great!!!

Will these character images be action images, or just like the front? Maybe an option to add season specific and important action images?

It's up to you. A lot of work, but with help of Hires people and especially people who know the series well, i think a finish the back and the whole design layout deserves.

If you prefer the same character layout as the front, i am curious how this will look like.

Cheers Segunda

Another quick update before I take a break...

Switched the Episode List and Special Features per JR's suggestion.

Segunda, I'm not sure how I'll handle the sidebar, whether it will be posed photos or action images. I'll have to take a look at the imagery that is available. The front was hard enough, and finding GOOD season-specific images will be harder, and action images that can be interchangeable between seasons will also be difficult. I'm thinking I'll keep this area for posed character photos of the main cast, or do some sort of "villains" collage that highlights the monsters of the season. Regardless, whatever route I choose, I'll need to be able to find good hi-res imagery to make it possible, and unfortunately, resource availability is often the deciding factor.

Anyway, here's the latest...

Looks perfect!

I agree with your words Kernie. I am sure you will come to a great solution.

I tried to find some HQ resources for you, but they are hard to find (buffy 1997-2003, that's a a long time ago with less (HQ) material)

Not totally sold on the quote's font choice. How would that look in the Kruella font?

Update...

First off, a big thanks thanks thanks to Dagon for helping with some new imagery! :D :D :D

I changed the quote font to Kruella and I do think it looks better, thanks JR! Although I'm always hesitant to use a more decorative typeface like Kruella for lots of words, even though the quote isn't exactly "body copy," too much text in a stylized font could be overkill. Fortunately, I think the Kruella font just straddles that line between illegible and decorative. Should I replace the thin Univers font on the front and spine with Kruella, or would it be too much?

Also, I tried to blend all the suggestions that were provided for the sidebar. With everyone's help, I think I came up with something that should hopefully satisfy everyone. Much like a typical still strip, the back collage will pull certain iconic "moments" from the season, but can always incorporate a cut-out of a monster or two from the season, or even a "good guy" recurring character who maybe didn't make it onto the front. I think this solution offers a lot of flexibility, while still being season-specific, so thanks to everyone who offered ideas when I was stuck. I'm really happy with the outcome! :D :D :D (By the way, it's not done yet, I still want to add another image or two below Buffy & Angel).

Any thoughts, please?? :D :D :D
