Will have to check the trailer out felipe!
A batman series would be cool, hopefully done right... like if they could get Nolan to help Produce it or something like that... because it is his vision that has made the franchise so great!
I think Captain America looks cool, and so does Green Lantern... but my money this summer is on Thor... think it looks frekin sweet!

Cap and Thor will be amazing, Green Lantern is a toss up, and the one that everyone will be talking about will be X-Men First Class, I think it's going to be a suprise hit. Vaugh also has a stigma when coming up dueces instead of aces when it comes to money makers but I think in terms of quality it'll be very good. I think too much of XO Wolverine's budget went to cast and not enough to the effects, I think they leaked the movie with unfinished effects so that when people went to see it in the theater with only slightly better effects they weren't as dissapointed...but oh that stupid Sabertooth "on all fours" running around and the ridiculous adamantium bullet, I'm pretty sure Mr. Burns had a mind eraser that was a revolver in the Simpson's. They had a really cool scene with him wearing the VR helmet and getting his mind wiped but I guess a magic mind eraser bullet was better for some reason. Superheroes on TV (live action) to me haven't ever been what they should, the closest thing to awesome would be the BBC series Misfits all of the US stuff (sorry Smallville fans) just isn't that great, granted it's been many many years since we've seen a non DC based live action TV entry, probably mostly due, as you've all said, to budget constraints. I think either way we're in for some good movies and some mediocre TV entertainment. I can't wait until Marvel gets the X rights back and the Spidey rights back because I'd love to see Wolverine and Spider-Man in a New Avengers film at some point. I'm also still waiting for a truely awesome version of the Punisher (I'm looking at you writers of The Shield and Justified).

I think Captain America will be pretty good, I'm glad that it's starts off in the 30/40's and working it's way through to the modern day, as for Green Lantern I hope that Ryan Reynolds doesn't ruin it with his cheesy humour, but I guess that's down to the script also, from the little I've seen so far I'm pretty excited about seeing it.
Thor again I'm looking forward to, I just hope it lives up to the image I'm imagining, we'll see
First Class I'm a little dubious about, due to the number of characters that supposed to have some sort of cameo here and there, will people learn who they actually are, or will it be just like X3 where you see the characters but haven't a clue who they are.
I agree with Bpmford a live action Batman series would be cool done in the right way of course, a new wonder woman, I'm not that bothered about, same goes for Hulk, it would have to be done with CGI of course, to live up to what was done in the Incredible Hulk, and the not so much Hulk which would have been 10 times better if they hadn't of edited it with the different screens like a comic, ironic I know but it spoilt the flow of the film, plus not to mention the poodle on steroids jezz. Plus we still have yet to see what the Hulk will be like in the Avengers.
Anyhow back to Batman again, I think After DKR they should leave it a good while before they reboot it yet again, I really enjoyed BB and DK though I thought DK was a little longwinded, but Nolans Batman is cool set in a world that could be believable
I'm a little disappointed that Nolan chose Catwomen and Bane, I think Hugo Strange might have been a better choice, someone new that we haven't seen before.
There are so many other characters that have yet to be explored
Ragdoll perhaps think Eugene Tooms from X-Files but not so creepy
Killer Croc, there are skin deformities that could make a man look like a Crocodile
plenty of others to choose from
I think they just stick with the most common characters due to the majority of the public just knowing characters that they saw in the old 60's Batman series:- Catwoman, Joker, The Riddler, The Penguin as Burton also did.
Again we'll just have to wait for DKR to see how things pan out.
Right to Spiderman, again I'm dubious with the so soon reboot, I like the look of the new suit though, and I hope Andrew Garfield will give the character something that Tobey Maguire lacked (like a personality) but the new film it's self not too sure about, I think it's just Sony cashing in again, just think Spidey 3. And I would have liked to see John Malkovich as the Vulture
Does anyone know what villains are in the new spidey? I don't seem to recall reading anything as yet.

Rhys Ifans as Curt Conners/the Lizard, according to IMDB. I've read this elsewhere as well, cause sometimes even IMDB can't be trusted, they once listed Rosemary Harris as playing Aunt May/Carnage for Spider-man 3. Dead serious...
And I'm still not sure that we won't see Hugo Strange in TDKR... I've still been hearing rumors that Joseph Gordon Levitt might pop up as the character (weird choice, I know). But again, take that with a very large grain of salt...

for Spidey - Rhys plays the person who turns into proto goblin heres the article from IGN: http://movies.ign.com/articles/114/1148445p1.html he only agreed to do the movie if his character didn't turn into a monster or was a villian.
I was reading about X-Men: First Class and i'm not expecting much... it just started filming in January and they are doing the editing/SFX as they film so it will make the june release date. Read it in an interview with the girl thats playing Emma Frost. That smells like trouble to me.
Sorry for going off topic.

LCD... that article about Spidey is talking about Irrfan Khan, who is an Indian actor and not the same person as Rhys Ifans, who I believe is British or something? Ifans is Curt Conners/Lizard, Khan is proto-goblin, which worries me because it reminds me of James Franco's $hitty "New Goblin" from Spidey 3.
Where did you read that X-Men: First Class didn't start filming until January? Wikipedia (again, not the best source) says filming started in August, 2010... which seems a bit more reasonable (and around the time that set photos of January Jones in costume started leaking). Maybe you're confusing January (the month) with January (Jones), the actress playing Emma Frost. I'd actually be f***in' impressed if they just started filming in January (the month, which was a few weeks ago) and they had all that footage and FX work done for the trailer that was released several days ago. Whatever you're smokin'/drinkin', LCD... I want some!! Your timeframe of how long it takes to film and do post-production doesn't quite make any sense... :P :P :P

I somehow think X-men First Class will end up being a flop or end being very similar to Generation X, I still see why they needed to make a prequel to begin with but that's Hollywood.
As for the Spidey Reboot I see a flop before it even it's the cinema's I could be wrong but I think it will ruin the franchise like Batman & Robin did for the batman franchise. I think the new suit is horrible it's one thing to change things up but they went beyond overboard.
I still think a live action Spidey series would be cool but a Batman series wold also very cool and most likely a lot easier to make.
I have high hopes for Thor and Green Lantern. I hoping I'll enjoy Captain America but i was never keen on the casting choice for Cap. More than anything I'm anxious to see Hugo Weaving in full Red Skull make up.
My only Concern with The Avengers is the Hulk, they've got to change the design and I'm afraid he's going to end like Ang Lee's Hulk.

How can a film flop before it's even released??
Have you seen the trailer for First Class AND do you remember the overuse of neon in practically every frame of Generation X? They're similar in that they feature young mutants at Xavier's school, but the tone seems very different.
As for Spidey, stop bashing the suit before you see it in action. The official pic that Sony released of Garfield looks fine to me. Beyond that, it's unfair to judge what you see in leaked spy set photos. Sometimes you can't judge something until you see it in proper lighting. I remember seeing early spy footage of the Iron Man suit on set and it looked weird, but when you see what the actual film camera sees (and how visual FX enhances it), it really changes things.
I'm optimistic about Evans as Cap. A friend of mine just criticized him for also being the Human Torch, but whatever... most of us realize that actors can pull off playing two different characters in similar genres. Find me one person nowadays who would complain that Harrison Ford was both Han Solo AND Indiana Jones.
Also, since I haven't seen anything yet, I'm not too worried about Hulk's look in Avengers. I really don't think they need to change the design much since I never thought the Hulk resembled Norton all that much to begin with (maybe some small nuances, but that's it). Ruffalo stepping in really only affects the look of Bruce Banner. But if they change it, I'll learn to live with it...Last edited by Kernie on Sat Feb 12, 2011 12:40 am, edited 1 time in total.
