Your entry MUST have a DVD release date PRE 2000. Some DVD's are released several times, so check carefully.
We have had a few entries now that do not have a DVD release date of PRE 2000. These entries will not be accepted into the competition.
So, please, before you waste lots of your time making a cover, make sure you have checked the DVD release dates.
So can we go by the earliest release date or go for one that hs not been mulitple released?? and where are we checking for the relase date? i have had different dates for different films from different sites all very confusing somedays![]()

If for example the DVD was released by MGM in 1987, and then re released in 2001 by Paramount, then just use the MGM release, and use the MGM logos
As long as it was released before 2000 on DVD, (not video) then you are ok!!

You can check release dates at two places: DVD Empire and Amazon.com/DVD
My question: will the public get a higher res preview to go by than what is currently in the blogs?

Quick question. What if there is a cover on this site for the movie you want to make, but it is a foreign cover, is it okay to add an english cover to the comp?

No, the public won't. But the judges will receive full res images.ubl6612 wrote:QUOTE(ubl6612 @ Jul 17 2006, 02:36 PM)Quick question. What if there is a cover on this site for the movie you want to make, but it is a foreign cover, is it okay to add an english cover to the comp?
Not if it is a custom. If there is only a scan for the cover you want to do, then it is fine. I am hoping that we are going to get some customs that we don't have. This way the competition benefits everyone

Sorry, just getting a bit frustrated with my 5 attempts at covers for the comp. 3 Have been ruled out coz i didn't release it was dvd release date, 1 has been ruled out because when i first searched the gallery i did beatlejuice as 2 words not one, and when i found my error theres already a bloody custom, and my last cover just went the way of the dodo when PSP crashed on me. So i reiterate ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
